국문 초록

디지털 기술의 발달은 치과 치료의 전반적인 패러다임을 혁신적으로 변화시키고 있습니다. 그 중에서도 디지털 스마일 디자인(digital smile design, DSD)은 환자의 심미적인 요구와 기능적인 개선을 동시에 충족시키기 위해 개발된 기법입니다. 환자의 얼굴 사진을 이용하여 수동적인 방식으로 치아 배열의 전반적 조화를 찾던 것이, 최근에는 다양한 회사에서 개발된 전용 소프트웨어를 이용하여 해당 과정을 진행할 수 있게 되었고, 심미 치과 치료에서 임상가들에게 점점 더 활용도가 높아지고 있습니다. 이 글에서는 디지털 스마일 디자인의 정의, 특징, 적용 과정, 장점, 그리고 앞으로의 전망에 대해 기술해 보고자 합니다.

영문 초록

The development of digital technology has revolutionized the paradigm of dental treatment. Among these innovations, Digital Smile Design (DSD) has emerged as a technique designed to simultaneously meet patients' aesthetic demands and functional improvements. Previously, tooth alignment for overall harmony was manually achieved using facial photographs. Today, specialized software developed by various companies facilitates this process, making it increasingly popular among clinicians for aesthetic dental treatments. This article discusses the definitions, features, application processes, benefits, and prospects of digital smile designs.
