부자(父子) 체육교사의 삶과 수업에 관한 내러티브 탐구

국문 초록

본 연구는 부자(父子) 체육교사의 삶이 그들의 수업관과 수업실천에 어떻게 영향을 주었는지를 이해하는 데 목적이 있다. 이에 연구자는 두 체육교사의 삶과 수업을 이해하기 위해 내러티브 탐구를 시도하였다. 연구참여자는 시대적 배경과 교육적 배경이 서로 다른 두 체육교사, 즉 연구자인 ‘나’와 나의 아버지이며, 현장 텍스트는 면담 자료, 자기성찰 자료, 문헌 및 문서 자료를 중심으로 구성하였다. 연구자는 현장 텍스트를 반복적으로 읽는 과정을 통해 두 체육교사의 삶에 관한 내러티브의 이야기 구조를 구성하였으며, 연구자의 해석적 관점에 따라 현장 텍스트를 재구성하여 연구 텍스트로 작성하였다. 연구결과에 따르면, 아버지는 ‘운동을 잘하는 학생선수’로서 ‘참교육을 지향하는 체육교사’의 삶을 살아온 반면에 나는 ‘체육을 좋아하는 일반학생’으로서 ‘유능함을 추구하는 체육교사’의 삶을 살아왔다. 또한, 아버지는 ‘기초 종목을 중심으로 운동기능을 향상하는 수업’을 ‘능수능란’하게 실천한 반면에 나는 ‘다양한 종목을 중심으로 학생참여를 유도하는 수업’을 ‘일취월장’하여 실천하고 있었다. 이를 바탕으로, 두 체육교사가 경험한 서로 다른 교육적 경험은 그들만의 수업관과 수업실천으로 연결되었으며, 부자는 서로의 삶에 영향을 미치는 주요 타자로서 좋은 교사가 되기 위해 지속적으로 상호작용하는 모습을 보여주었다. The purpose of this study is to understand how physical education teachers’ lives influence their teaching philosophies and teaching practices. The researcher attempted a narrative inquiry in order to understand the lives and teaching of the two physical education teachers. The study participants were two physical education teachers with different generational and educational backgrounds: the researcher and my father. The field text was composed of interview data, self-reflection essays, literature and documents. Through the process of reading the field text repeatedly, the researcher constructed a narrative structure from stories about two physical education teachers’ lives. The field text was reconstructed based on the researcher’s interpretation and was written as the research text. According to the findings of the study, my father has lived a life of a ‘physical education teacher aiming for true education’ as a ‘student athlete who is good at sports.’ On the other hand, the researcher myself has lived a life of a ‘physical education teacher seeking competence’ as an ‘ordinary student who likes sports.’ In addition, my father has been practicing ‘teaching that emphasizes improving motor skills based on basic sports’ skillfully. On the other hand, I have been practicing ‘teaching that induces students’ participation in various sports’ by improving in teaching very quickly. Based on these findings, the different educational experiences of the two physical education teachers were linked to their own teaching, and they show constant interaction to become good teachers as significant others.
