대학원생의 비교과 프로그램 참여 경험에 대한 전적 분석

국문 초록

본 연구에서는 대학원생의 바교과 프로그램 참여 경협에 대한 의미를 구체적이고 심층적으로 분석하였다. 이를 위해 서울 소재 대규모 연구중심대학에 재학 중인 대학원생을 대상으로 질적 연구를 실시하였다. 바교과 프로그램에 참여했던 대학원생들이 작성한 찹여 수기 52 편을 최종 분석 대상으로 삽았으며, 주제 분석법을 활용하여 주요 주제와 패턴을 도출하였다. 연구 결과, 연구참여자들의 바교과 프로그램 참여 경험은 4 개의 상위주제와 11 개의 하위주제로 구성되었다. 상위주제는 ‘연구자 역량 함양', ‘졸업 후 진로 설계 및 준바를 위한 길잡이', ‘나를 이해하고 돌보는 시간', ‘동료 대학원생들과 함께 걷는 길'로 나타났다. 연구참여자들은 비교과 프로그램 참여를 통해 새로운 연구 방법, 발표와 작문 기술, 영어 말하기 등 정규 교과로는 습득하기 어려운 실질적인 연구 역량을 향상할 수 있었다고 진술하였다. 또한 대학원 졸업 후의 진로에 대한 명확한 목표 설정과 본격적인 진로 준비에도 도움을 받고 있었다. 이 밖에도 비교과 프로그램을 통해 연구참여자들은 자기 이해 및 자기 돌봄을 경험한 것으로 나타났다. 마지막으로, 참여자들은 바교과 프로그램이 동료 대학원생들과의 소통과 협릭을 촉진하며, 다 전공 대학원생과의 네트워킹 형성 및 확장에도 긍정적인 영향을 미친다고 보고하였다. 이러한 연구 결과를 바탕으로 대학원생의 바교과 프로그램 활동을 지원하고 그 효과를 극대화하는 데 요구되는 실천적 방안을 제언하였다.

영문 초록

The study aims to provide an in-depth analysis of graduate students ' experiences in extracurricular programs. We conducted a qualitative study at a large research—oriented university in Seoul, Korea, using thematic analysis on 52 essays from graduate students involved in extracurricular programs. Our findings revealed four major themes: 'Enhancing researcher competencies,' 'Guidance for career planning and preparation after graduation, ' ' Self—understanding and self-care,' and 'Walking together with fellow graduate students.' Participants stated that through extracurricular programs, they were able to improve practical research skills that are challenging to acquire through regular coursework, such as new research methodologies and writing skills. They also mentioned that these programs helped them set clear career goals and prepare for their careers after graduation. Moreover, participants experienced self—understanding and care through extracurricular programs. Finally, they reported that the extracurricular programs promoted communication and collaboration among graduate students, positively impacting their networking and interactions with peers from different disciplines. Based on these findings, we discuss practical implications to support graduate students ' extracurricular activities and maximize their effectiveness.
