국문 초록

본 연구는 장애인 거주시설의 물리적 환경과 발달장애인의 도전행동 수준을 살펴보고, 거주시설의 물리적 환경이 발달장애인의 도전행동 발생에 영향을 미치는 지를 탐색적으로 살펴보고자 하였다. 이를 위해 장애인 거주시설 종사자를 대상으로 서베이를 실시하였고, 다중회귀분석을 통해 도전행동에 대한 물리적 환경의 영향력을 확인하였다. 연구결과, 장애인 거주시설의 물리적 환경 수준은 평균 3.16점(5점 만점)이었고, 시설 거주 이용자의 38.2%가 도전행동을 나타내는 것으로 확인되었다. 발달장애인의 도전행동에 대한 거주시설의 물리적 환경은 감각 자극 고려환경, 일상 및 상호작용 고려 환경, 안전한 환경 순으로 모두 유의한 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 연구결과를 토대로 발달장애인의 도전행동에 대한 거주시설 물리적 환경의 중요성을 강조하였고, 질 높은 물리적 환경 제공을 위한 실천 방안을 제언하였다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study is to examine the physical environment level and challenging behavior level of residential facilities for the disabled, and to explore whether the physical environment affects challenging behavior of people with developmental disabilities. For this purpose, a survey was conducted on residential facilities for the disabled, and the influence of the physical environment on challenging behavior was confirmed through multiple regression analysis. As a result of the study, the physical environment of the residential facilities for the disabled was 3.16 points (out of 5 points) on average, and 38.2% of the users living in the facilities showed challenging behavior. The physical environment of residential facilities for challenging behaviors of people with developmental disabilities was found to be significant in the order of sensory stimulation consideration environment, daily and interaction consideration environment, and safe environment. Based on the results of this study, the importance of physical environment in residential facilities was emphasized, and practical measures for providing high quality physical environment were suggested.
