국문 초록

연구 배경 : 평생교육 강사의 수요 증가로 경력단절 중년여성이 시간적 유연성과 자율성을 겸비한 평생교육 프리랜서 강사로 진출하고 있으나, 이들의 특수한 정체성 형성과정을 심층적으로 조명한 연구는 부족하다. 연구 목적 : 경력단절 중년여성 평생교육 프리랜서 강사들의 정체성 형성과정과 의미를 총체적으로 이해하는 데 목적이 있다. 연구 방법 : 평생교육 강사 경력 5년 이상의 40대~60대 중년여성 4인 연구참여자 선정, 반 구조화 심층 면담과 관찰로 자료수집, 전사 - 해석 - 범주화 - 조작화 과정을 거쳐 내러티브 탐구 분석하였다. 연구 결과 : 정체성 형성과정에 모색기 - 재구성기 - 내재화기 등의 단계가 있었다. 주요 형성 요인으로는 프리랜서 ž 경력단절 중년여성의 특수성, 개인 내적 ž 대인 관계적 ž 환경적 요인들이 복합적으로 작용하여 프리랜서와 중년여성의 특수 위치성이 정체성에 큰 영향을 주었다. 시사점 : 경력단절을 경험한 중년여성 평생교육 프리랜서 강사 정체성의 본질을 이해할 수 있다. 프리랜서 강사 전문성 개발 지원과 처우 개선, 일-가정 양립 지원 등과 관련하여 제도, 정책적인 시사점, 강사 전문성 인정 및 가족 복지 정책 개선 필요성이 시사된다.

영문 초록

Background : Middle-aged women with career breaks are advancing into lifelong education freelance instructors with time flexibility and autonomy due to the increasing demand for lifelong education instructors, but studies that shed deep light on their special identity formation process are insufficient. Purpose : The purpose of this study is to understand the identity formation process and meaning of freelance instructors in lifelong education for middle-aged women with career breaks. Methodology : Four middle-aged women in their 40s and 60s with more than five years of experience as lifelong education instructors were selected, data was collected through semi-structured in-depth interviews and observations, and narrative inquiry and analysis were conducted through transcription, interpretation, categorization, and manipulation. Conclusions : As a result of the analysis, there were stages such as search, reconstruction and internalization in the process of identity formation. As identity formation factors, the specificity of middle-aged women with career breaks in freelance, personal internal, interpersonal and environmental factors worked in combination. Implications : You can understand the nature of the identity of freelance instructors in lifelong education for middle-aged women who have experienced career breaks. In relation to support for professional development and treatment of freelance instructors, improvement of work-family balance, etc., the need for institutional, policy implications, recognition of instructor expertise, and improvement of family welfare policies is suggested.
