독수리의 상징에 관한 이론적 고찰과 사례 연구

국문 초록

고대 역사 속에서부터 권위, 힘, 영적 원리, 정오의 태양, 모든 하늘신의 상징인 독수리를 신화와 종교, 문화와 문학에 나타난 상징의 의미를 살펴보고 모래놀이 상자에서는 내담자의 내면 여정에 어떠한 의미였는지 동행하며 살펴보았다. 신화에 나타난 독수리는 신의 전령이며 신과 동일시되고 영원불멸의 삶을 의미하며 아버지를 상징하였다. 종교에서 독수리는 태양의 신, 땅에서 하늘로 기도를 전달하는 인간의 영적 원리를 상징하였다. 인류 역사 문화에서 새들의 제왕인 독수리는 왕권, 전사의 상징, 재생과 부활, 태양의 빛으로 상징되었다. 문학작품 속에서는 삶의 역경과 시련에도 좌절하지 않는 용기와 자연과 온 우주와 공존하는 상징으로 표현되었다. 또한 모래놀이 상자에 나타난 독수리는 힘의 권위를 보여주며 자식인 아기 독수리를 챙기는 모습을 보여주었고, 아기 독수리는 아버지 독수리의 곁에 늘 같이 있었으며 아버지 독수리가 죽은 후 무덤을 세우고 보존하고자 하는 모습을 보였다. 이는 성장 과정에서 결핍된 부성의 보살핌과 원형적인 부모 자녀 관계에서 억압된 것과 의식된 것이 대극을 이루어 갈등이 있었으나 자기조절을 통해 분화하는 과정을 거쳐 새로운 태도, 신념, 행동, 부와의 새로운 관계 창조를 통해 자기실현을 이루고 있었다.

영문 초록

From ancient history, the eagle symbolized authority, power, spiritual principles, the midday sun, and all gods. This paper aims to explain the symbols and meanings of eagles in mythology, religion, culture and literature. Furthermore, it will explain what the counselee means to use the eagle in the sand play. The eagle in mythology was symbolized god s messenger, god s agent, eternal life and father. From a religious, the eagle is used as the god of the sun or as a passage between humans and gods to convey prayer from earth to heaven. The eagle, the king of birds, was symbolized by majesty, warrior, regeneration, resurrection, and the light of the sun in human history and culture. In the literary, the eagle was represented as a symbol of courage that was not frustrated by hardship and misfortune, or as a symbol of coexistence with nature and the universe. In sand play, the eagle showed the authority of power and took care of its baby eagle. This baby eagle was always with his father, and after his death, it tried to build a tomb and preserve it. It seems that there was a lack of paternity care and there was a conflict between knowing the unconsciously suppressed situation and the consciously suppressed situation of archetypal parent-child relationship in the process of growth. The counselee achieved self-realization by using sand play to know self-regulation, forming new attitudes, beliefs, behaviors, and new relationships with his father.
