미술관 실무자의 장애인 대상 교육 경험에 대한 근거이론연구

국문 초록

본 연구는 미술관 실무자들의 장애인 대상 교육경험의 과정을 이해하고 그 경험에 영향을 미치는 관련 변인을 파악하는데 목적이 있다. 연구의 대상은 서울과 수도권에 위치한 미술관에서 장애인 대상 교육 콘텐츠를 개발하거나 운영한 경험이 있는 학예사와 교육담당자 7명이다. 미술관 실무자들의 장애인 대상 교육 개발 및 운영 경험을 심층 면담을 통해 살펴보고 이를 전사하여 Strauss와 Corbin(2015)이 제시한 근거이론으로 분석하였다. 연구 결과, 미술관의 실무자들은 장애인 대상 교육을 개발하고 운영하면서 장애인 학습자의 특성에 맞는 교육을 설계하기 어렵다는 점, 장애인을 위한 물리적인 환경이 조성되지 못한 점, 장애인 미술관교육과 관련된 정보 습득의 어려움을 경험한다는 점이 도출되었다. 이러한 어려움을 해결하기 위하여 미술관의 실무자들은 장애 유형별 교육 운영과 보조인력을 투입한 맞춤형 교육 설계 노력, 편안한 분위기 및 장애보조자료 제공, 외부기관 협력과 자문 등의 전략을 사용하였다. 또한 미술관 실무자들은 장애인 대상 미술관교육의 의미와 가치를 발견하고 개인적인 보람을 느끼기도 하였지만, 아쉬움과 직원교육 및 실무자 전문가 간 네트워크 구축 등의 제도적 지원 필요성을 절감하는 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 맥락에서, 본 연구는 장애인 대상 미술관 경험의 질적 제고와 장애인 대상 미술관교육의 방향성 탐색을 위한 기초자료로서 그 중요성이 있다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study is to understand the experiences of art museum educators while developing and operating educational programs for people with disabilities, and to identify relevant variables that affect the experience. In-depth interviews were conducted with 7 art museum educators, and they were analyzed using the grounded theory proposed by Strauss and Corbin (2015). As a result of the study, it was found that art museum educators face the following three difficulties while developing and operating educational programs for people with disabilities. First, it is difficult to design education suitable for the characteristics of learners with disabilities. Second, the physical environment for the learners with disabilities is not created in the museum. Third, it is difficult to acquire information related to the education of the disabled. To solve these difficulties, art museum educators developed different educational programs according to the type of disability, arranged assistant instructors, provided necessary materials to the disabled, and used strategies such as receiving advice from external experts.
