영문 초록

The purpose of this research is to analyze contributing factors to midlife couples’healthy marital relationships and to understand characteristics of healthy couples’relationships. Based on qualitative research, the research method uses in-depth interview. The subjects of the interview are 12 married,midlife couples who are between the ages of forty and sixty. For data analysis,narrative analysis has been used to analyze the factors for contributing to their healthy relationships. As the results of this analysis, 10 categories come out. These 10 categories are faith, sharing of value systems, trust, commitment,equality, love, positive regard, leisure time, communication, and conflict management. The major concept of the couples’healthy relationships is “companionship.”The definition of this concept is “being precious and needed to each other; sharing and accompanying of couple’s life in a comfortable and open-hearted way; helping and compensating each other;being in company with each other as an equal partner.”The theological perspective on the factors have been developed. The theological concepts are equal union, covenant, equality, love, life-giving,koinonia and grace. Theological reflections on the concepts were done. Finally, pastoral counseling approaches to healthy relationships are suggested.
