영문 초록

This paper discusses how one’s beliefs in God locus of control and image of God or God concept influence his or her mental health and suggests various therapeutic interventions to change one’s distorted image of God and reshape the biblical and adaptive image of God. If one has a positive image of God, his or her beliefs in God locus of control may be positively related to health. In contrast, if one has a negative image of God,his or her beliefs in God locus of control may be negatively related to health. One’s image of God is influenced by his or her object-relational development and social cultural impacts. When one’s image of God is negatively developed by these influences, Christian therapists can change his or her image of God as well as facilitate the growth process and maturity with diverse interventions, which employ psychodynamic and cognitivebehavioral skills.
