사이버 대학교 성인학습자의 학습전략, 동기 및 학업성취와의 관계연구

국문 초록

본 연구는 성인학습자의 특성에 따른 학습전략, 동기와의 관련성과 차이성 그리고 학업성취와 각 변인과의 관련성에 대한 탐색적 연구이었다. 연구를 위해 서울에 소재한 K사이버대학 176명 학생들의 웹 설문 반응을 분석하였다. 분석결과, 첫째, 성인학습자 특성에 따라 학습전략, 동기간에 상관관계를 보였다. 성인학습자의 결혼유무는 학습전략의 하위변인인 동료학습에서 상관관계를 보였으나, 노력조절과는 음의 상관관계를 보였다. 둘째, 성인학습자 특성별로 학습전략과 동기에는 유의미한 차이가 발견되었다. 성인학습자 특성에 해당되는 결혼유무, 전공의 변화유무에 따라 학습시간관리, 노력조절, 동료학습, 자기 효능감, 시험불안에서 유의미한 차이를 보였다. 셋째, 학업성취에 영향을 미치는 변인은 수강과목 수, 가족의 지원, 노력조절, 도움구하기 변인이었다. 이러한 연구결과는 성인학습자의 원격학습효과를 극대화시키기 위하여 성인학습자에게 적합한 학습동기를 고취시키고 적극적인 학습전략을 사용할 수 있게하는 학습동기 및 전략 프로그램 개발, 교육과정 운영, 상담적 접근의 지원 프로그램 개발에 대한 필요성을 시사한다고 볼 수 있다.

영문 초록

This study investigated the correlations of learning strategies and motivations, and their influences on academic achievement and learning variables based on the characteristics of adult learners. Three conclusions were drawn from our survey analyses. First, we observed the significant correlation of MSLQ items with the demographic variables of adult learners. Second, there were noteworthy differences in learning strategies and motivations between the characteristics of adult groups. Third, the characteristics of adult learners were the most important factors in the regression analysis of learning variables on academic performance. The present study implies that the learning strategies and motivation are critical to maximize the e-Learning achievement of adult learners. Therefore, academic institutions for adult learners should focus on developing contents for e-Learning, teaching methods that reflect students needs, managing curriculum implementation, and launching the supporting programs in order to inspire the motivation of adult learners.
