마음이론을 바탕으로 한 미술활동이 아동의 사회성에 미치는 효과

국문 초록

본 연구는 사회성 과의 연관이 밝혀진 발달심리학의 마음이론에 미술기법을 접목하여, 정상아에게 도 사용할 수 있는 사회성 증진 미술치료 프로그램을 개발할 필요성을 검토하기 위하여 실시되었다. 학령기 초기의 초등학교 1학년 아동 60명을 세 집단으로 나누어 실험집단에는 마음이론을 바탕으로 한 미술활동을, 비교집단에는 사회성 향상 미술치료 프로그램을, 무처치 집단은 사전 사후 검사만을 실시하여, 아동의 사회성 향상에 기여하는 정도를 집단간 비교하였다. 검사 항목은 초등학교 저 학년 의 사회성의 지표가 되는 사회행동, 공격성, 공감능력, 학교 생활화에 나타난 사회성 이었고 이들의 사전, 사후 점수를 공변량 분석하여 프로그램 간의 효과를 비교하였다. 그 결과, 마음이론을 바탕으 로 한 미술 활동을 한 실험집단이 무처치 집단과 비교하여, 관습관련 사회행동, 마음이해관련 사회 행동, 학교생활화에 나타난 사회성에서 비교집단과 유사하게 유의미한 증가를 보였다. 이러한 결과 는 마음 이론을 도입한 미술활동 프로그램이 기존의 치료기법과 유사하게, 학령기 아동의 사회성 관 련 문제에 대한 치료 기법으로 발전할 수 있는 가능성 을 보여주었고, 향후 자폐증은 물론, 사회성이 부족한 정상아를 위한 미술치료 기법으로도 많은 기여를 할 것으로 기대된다.

영문 초록

In this study, it is very essential to develop how our program of art therapy, based on the theory of mind in the development psychology, aims effectively to promote the social skills of normal children. Our training program was applied to 60 first grade-schoolers classified into three groups, test group, control group, and free group. The art activity program based on the theory of mind was applied to the test group, the control group was trained with the program of art therapy for an improvement in social skills, and the free group was only examined without any training before and after this experiment. Only after executing the program, we discovered the effectively variable analyses of an art activity treatment by comparing the survey items, social behavior, aggression, sympathy, and school life ability, in the early grade-schoolers with the prior results of the same group. The result was that the test group had significantly improved under the art activities as compared with the free groups, from the point of social behavior related with social usage, mind-consideration, and social skill of school life. These studies of the art activity program integrated with theory of mind will contribute toward a related training of social skills as a therapy technique for children who lack proper social skills.
