국문 초록

본 연구의 목적은 목회자 가정에서 출생한 자녀들이 경험한 대상관계를 심층적으로 밝히는 것이다. 본 연구는 출생부터 현재까지 목회자 자녀인 성인초기 26-31세 목회자 자녀 8인을 대상으로 심층면접을 진행하였다. 수집된 자료는 Colaizzi(1969)의 현상학적 연구 절차에 따라 분석되었으며, 분석 결과 100개의 주제, 31개의 주제군, 11개의 범주가 도출되었다. 목회자 성인초기 자녀들의 대상관계 경험을 정리하자면 다음과 같다. 목회자 성인초기 자녀는 교회의 연장선인 가정으로 인해 자신이 수용되는 대상경험이 부재했다. 이는 완벽주의적인 자기대상을 형성하며 스스로를 향한 매정한 평가를 반복하고, 하나님을 포함한 타자의 관계에서 항상 불편감을 느끼는 모습으로 나타났다. 그러나 성장과정에서 경험한 타 교회 출석, 독립, 기독 동아리는 목회자 자녀가 아닌 독특한 자신만의 삶이 있음을 알게 해주었다. 특히 감정을 알아주는 관계 경험은 항상 긴장해야 했던 타자대상이 아닌 안전함을 느끼는 새로운 대상경험이 되었다. 표상의 좋고-나쁨을 확장한 참여자들은 외면해왔던 진심을 직면하기 시작했고, 가려져 있던 내면의 상처를 위로하기 시작하며 자기감을 획득할 수 있었다. 본 연구는 성인초기 목회자 자녀의 대상 경험을 이해하고, 건강한 성숙으로 이끄는 상담학적 기초자료가 되는 것에 의의가 있다.

영문 초록

This study explores the object relations experienced by pastor’s kid from pastoral families into early adulthood (ages 26-31). Using Colaizzi’s phenomenology with eight participants, the analysis revealed how their home environment, as an extension of the church, often resulted in a lack of accessible acceptance, fostering perfectionistic self-objects and discomfort in relationships. However, experiences like attending other churches, independence, and Christian fellowships facilitated awareness of their unique identities. Crucially, relationships that acknowledged their emotions provided new, safe object experiences, contrasting with previous hypervigilance. This enabled participants to confront their true feelings, heal inner wounds, and gain a sense of self. This research offers foundational insights into the object experiences of pastors’ children, aiming to inform counseling practices that support their healthy development.
