국문 초록

본 연구는 한반도 분단 79년이 지난 현재, 한국교회가 직면한 북한 지역의 복음화라는 중한 선교적 과제를 다룬다. 북한은 해방 이후 체계적인 종교 탄압을 경험하였으나, 최근 탈북민 증가와 외부 정보 유입으로 인해 주민들의 인식이 변화하며 북한 선교에 새로운 기회가 나타나고 있다. 특히 국내 탈북민 교회들은 미래 북한교회 개척의 중요한 ‘못자리’ 역할을 수행하고 있다. 본 연구는 독일 통일 이후 동독 교회 재건 사례에서 얻은 교훈을 바탕으로, 북한의 종교 현실 및 주체사상 체계를 분석하고 단계별 북한교회 개척 시나리오와 전략을 제시한다. 이를 위해 문헌연구와 사례연구(독일 통일 사례, 탈북민 교회 현황)를 병행하였다. 본 연구는 북한 그리스도인들이 스스로 자문화 친화적인 교회를 개척해 나가는 것이 가장 바람직하다고 보며, 이를 위한 한국교회의 지속적인 선교적 노력과 탈북민 교회의 핵심적인 역할, 그리고 남한 교회와의 실질적인 파트너십 구축을 강조한다. 궁극적으로 본 연구는 한국교회가 북한 선교를 위한 구체적인 전략을 수립하고, 통일 이후 남북한 교회의 통합과 사회 통합에 기여할 수 있는 방안을 모색하는데 실질적인 도움을 제공하고자 한다.

영문 초록

This study addresses the critical missionary task of evangelizing North Korea, a challenge faced by the South Korean church 79 years after the division of the Korean Peninsula. While North Korea has undergone systematic religious oppression since liberation, recent increases in defectors and the inflow of external information indicate changing perceptions among its populace, presenting new opportunities for North Korean mission. Notably, defector churches in South Korea serve as crucial “nurseries” for future church planting in North Korea. Based on lessons from the church reconstruction in East Germany after unification, this research analyzes North Korea's religious reality and Juche ideology, proposing phased scenarios and strategies for church planting in the region. The methodology combines literature review with case studies (German unification, current status of defector churches). The study suggests that North Korean Christians autonomously establishing their own culturally-adapted churches is most desirable, emphasizing the continuous missionary efforts of the South Korean church, the pivotal role of defector churches, and the establishment of practical partnerships with South Korean churches. Ultimately, this research aims to provide concrete assistance to the South Korean church in formulating specific strategies for North Korean mission and exploring ways to contribute to the integration of North and South Korean churches and social unity after reunification.
