국문 초록

이 연구의 목적은 초등학교 6학년 학생을 대상으로 플로킹 활동 중심의 환경교육 프로그램을 개발･적용하고, 그 효과를 환경태도 측면에서 검증하는 데 있다. 이를 위해 플로킹 활동 중심의 환경교육 프로그램을 개발하여 13명의 학생을 대상으로 3개월간 프로그램을 실시하였으며, 실험집단과 비교집단을 대상으로 사전･사후 검사를 진행하고, t검증을 통해 환경태도 점수의 변화를 분석하였다. 또한, 포트폴리오, 관찰 기록, 면담을 활용한 정성적 자료를 수집･분석하였다. 연구 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 총 20차시로 개발된 프로그램은 국어, 사회, 도덕, 미술, 실과 등 다양한 교과와 연계하여 인지적, 정의적, 행동적 영역을 균형 있게 반영하여 생활 밀착형 실천 활동 중심으로 구성하였다. 둘째, 실험집단과 비교집단 간 사후검사에서는 통계적으로 유의미한 차이가 나타나지 않았으나, 실험집단의 사전･사후 검사 결과에서는 인지적, 정의적, 행동적 영역 모두에서 통계적으로 유의미한 향상이 확인되었다. 셋째, 정성적 분석에서도 플로킹 활동 이후 환경에 대한 관심과 책임감을 표현하고, 친환경적인 생활을 자발적으로 실천･내면화하는 모습을 확인할 수 있었다. 이러한 결과는 플로킹 활동 중심 환경교육 프로그램이 초등학생의 환경태도 향상에 효과적임을 보여주며, 향후 학교 환경교육이 실천 및 참여 중심의 활동으로 나아가야 할 필요성과 가능성을 시사한다.

영문 초록

This study aimed to explore the impact of a ploking-based environmental education program on the environmental attitudes of elementary school students. Thirteen sixth-grade students from an elementary school in U-gun, Gyeongsangbuk-do, were recruited for the study. The program was conducted over 20 sessions over three months. Both the experimental and comparison groups participated in pre- and post-tests using an environmental attitude scale. In addition, qualitative data, including student portfolios, researcher observations, and interviews, were collected and analyzed to support the quantitative findings. The results of this research can be summarized as follows: Firstly, a 20-session environmental education program tailored to the sixth-grade level was developed based on the 2015 revised national curriculum and textbook analysis. Secondly, the program was designed to be practical and activity-centered, combining various subjects, such as Korean, social studies, ethics, art, and practical arts. It emphasized the cognitive, affective, and behavioral aspects of environmental attitudes. Thirdly, although no statistically significant difference was found between the post-test results of the experimental and comparison groups, the experimental group showed statistically significant improvement in all three domains—cognitive, affective, and behavioral—when comparing pre- and post-tests. This indicates that the ploking-based program had a positive effect on students’ environmental attitudes. Finally, the analysis of qualitative data indicated that students expressed increased interest and responsibility regarding environmental issues and internalized eco-friendly behaviors through the ploking activities. These findings suggest that ploking-based environmental education can effectively foster changes in environmental attitudes among elementary students and highlight the potential for implementing practical, action-oriented environmental education programs in schools.
