국문 초록

본 연구는 음악치료사의 기독교 영성을 기반으로 한 전문성 성장을 현상학적으로 탐색하고자 하였다. 치료사의 전문성은 지식과 기술의 축적을 넘어, 내면의 가치관과 존재 방식의 통합을 포함하는 전인적 성장의 과정이다. 특히 영성은 치료사의 자기성찰과 임상적 통찰을 이끄는 심층 자원으로, 임상 현장에서의 지속성과 회복력을 지지한다. 이를 살펴보기 위해 본 연구는 기독교 신앙을 바탕으로 임상 경험을 수행해온 음악치료사 6명을 대상으로 Giorgi의 기술현상학적 연구방법을 적용하여 심층 면담을 실시하고, 참여자의 생생한 경험을 의미단위로 분석하였다. 그 결과, ‘소명의 길을 향한 내적 여정의 시작’, ‘소명의 길에서 마주한 임상적 난관과 한계’, ‘영성을 통해 전문성이 형성되어가는 과정’, ‘영성이 이끄는 치료사로서의 정체성 확립’ 이라는 네 가지 구성요소와 13개의 하위구성요소가 도출되었다. 참여자들은 기독교 영성을 통해 소명의식을 형성하고, 임상에서의 어려움 속에서도 영적 통찰을 얻었으며, 동료와의 상호적 관계를 형성하였다. 또한, 자기돌봄을 통해 지속가능성을 회복하고, 내담자와의 관계 속에서 삶과 신앙의 일치를 추구하며 전문성을 심화시켜 나갔다. 본 연구는 음악치료사 교육과 수퍼비전에서 영성을 통합한 접근의 필요성을 제언하며, 치료사의 전인적 성장과 임상적 성찰을 지원하는 기초자료로서의 의의가 있다.

영문 초록

This study aimed to phenomenologically explore the professional growth of music therapists grounded in Christian spirituality. Professional development in therapy extends beyond the accumulation of knowledge and skills, encompassing a holistic growth process that integrates inner values and ways of being. Spirituality, in particular, serves as a profound resource that fosters therapists’ self-reflection and clinical insight, supporting sustainability and resilience in clinical practice. To investigate this, in-depth interviews were conducted with six music therapists whose clinical work was grounded in Christian faith, applying Giorgi’s descriptive phenomenological method. The participants’ vivid experiences were analyzed into meaning units, yielding four constituents and thirteen sub-constituents: “The beginning of an inner journey toward a sense of calling,” “Clinical challenges and limitations encountered on the vocational path,” “The process of professional formation through spirituality,” and “Establishing therapist identity led by spirituality.” Participants reported forming a sense of calling through Christian spirituality, gaining spiritual insight amid clinical difficulties, and fostering mutual relationships with peers. They also described restoring sustainability through self-care and pursuing the integration of life and faith in therapeutic relationships, thereby deepening their professionalism. This study proposes the necessity of integrating spirituality into music therapy education and supervision and holds significance as foundational data to support therapists’ holistic growth and clinical reflection.
