국문 초록

본 연구는 우리나라 아동·청소년의 여가생활과 정신건강의 현황 및 문제점을 탐색하고, 아동·청소년의 정신건강을 위한 여가생활의 적절한 대안을 제안하고자 하였다. 연구방법은 문화체육관광부, 한국청소년정책연구원 등의 통계자료를 분석하고 선행연구들을 중심으로 여가생활과 관련된 법안을 살펴보았다. 연구결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 우리나라 아동·청소년의 정신건강은 OECD 국가 중 최하위로 불안 우울 등의 문제를 호소하고 있는 것으로 확인되었다.우리나라 아동·청소년은 학업과 입시 스트레스로 충분한 여가활동을 할 수 없는 것으로 나타났다. 둘째, 우리나라 아동·청소년은 학업과 입시 스트레스로 충분한 여가활동을 할 수 없는 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 아동·청소년의 여가정책과 관련하여 1차와 2차 여가 활성화 기본계획이 수립되었으나, 아동·청소년은 주로 대중매체에 국한된 여가활동을 하는 것으로 나타났다. 이에 대한 대책으로 첫째, 국민의 여가활동 정착을 통한 삶의 질을 높일 수 있도록 적절한 여가정책 추진이 필요하다. 둘째, 학업 중심의 입시제도 개선을 통한 정신과 신체를 함께 발달시킬 수 있는 제도적 보완이 필요하다. 셋째, 아동·청소년들이 즐길 수 있는 다양한 문화컨텐츠와 체육시설 등의 구축이 필요하다고 본다.

영문 초록

This study explored the current status and problems of leisure activities and mental health of children and adolescents in Korea. It aimed to suggest appropriate alternative leisure activities for the mental health of children and adolescents. The research method was to analyze statistical data from the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the Korea Youth Policy Institute, etc., and to examine laws related to leisure activities based on previous studies. The research results are as follows. First, it was confirmed that the mental health of children and adolescents in our country is the lowest among OECD countries, complaining of problems such as anxiety and depression. Second, it was found that children and adolescents in our country are unable to engage in sufficient leisure activities due to academic and college entrance exam stress. Third, although the 1st and 2nd basic leisure activation plans were established in relation to leisure policies for children and adolescents, it was found that children and adolescents mainly engage in leisure activities limited to mass media. As a countermeasure to this, first, it is necessary to promote appropriate leisure policies so that the quality of life can be improved through the establishment of leisure activities for the people. Second, institutional supplementation is necessary to develop both the mind and body through improvement of the academiccentered entrance examination system. Third, it is necessary to build various cultural contents and sports facilities that children and adolescents can enjoy.
