부모 대상 자녀 성교육 도서 분석과 제언 : 인격주의 관점을 중심으로

국문 초록

최근 생명윤리 이슈의 근간에서 성(性)에 대한 인식이나 태도에 대한 문제점이 발견된다. 이를 극복하기 위해 성(性)에 대한 인식이 언제, 어떻게 형성되는지 살펴보면 유년기부터 전 생애주기에 걸쳐 단계적으로 진행된다는 것을 알 수 있다. 이러한 성(性)을 교육하는 중요한 주체로서 가정은, 성(性)을 통해 새 생명을 낳아 기르는 생명의 첫 번째 자리로서 부모가 자녀에게 성(性)과 생명의 진리와 신비를 전수할 수 있다는 점에서 가정에서 이루어지는 성교육의 중요성은 더 강조하지 않을 수 없다. 이에 본 논문은 국내 성교육을 담당하는 전문가들이 최근 5년 이내 편찬한 부모를 대상으로 하는 자녀 성교육 도서(이하 부모 성교육 도서) 19권을 선정하여 부모 성교육 도서의 동향과 주제를 검토하고, 성관계, 피임, 출산, 낙태 4개 주제를 선정하여 그 내용과 관점을 분석하고, 문제점과 제언점을 제시하고자 한다. 연구 결과 부모 성교육 도서의 주제는 일부 성(性) 문제를 설명하는 주제에 편향되어 있고, 그것을 설명하는 내용은 반생명적인 요소를 포함하였다. 나아가 성(性)을 바라보는 다양한 관점에 따른 해석의 차이도 찾아볼 수 있으며, 이의 영향으로 성교육의 주제나 내용도 일관성이나 도덕성이 부재한 실정이다. 생명을 향한 행위인 성관계, 이에 반대되는 생명의 잉태를 거부하는 피임, 생명을 잉태시키고 탄생시키는 전 과정인 출산, 그 반대에서 생명을 죽이는 낙태 모두 성(性)과 생명에 연결된다. 많은 가정에서 성교육에 부담을 갖는 큰 이유 중 하나도 바로 인간의 성(性)이 인간 생명과 직결되어 주제의 중대함과 어려움이 따르기 때문이다. 인간 생명은 무엇보다 우선적으로 보호하고 증진해야 하는 가치이므로, 생명에 대한 확고하고 명확한 기준과 관점이 필요하다. 이에 본 논문은 인격 개념과 인격주의 관점을 바탕으로 인간의 성(性)을 재해석하고자 한다.

영문 초록

At the root of recent bioethics issues are problems related to awareness or attitude toward sexuality. In order to overcome these problems, we can see that it progresses step by step from childhood through the entire life cycle by looking at when and how awareness of sexuality is formed. As an important entity that educates on sexuality, the family is the first place in life where new life is born and raised, and parents can pass on the truth and mystery of sexuality and life to their children. Therefore the importance of sexuality education at home cannot be further emphasized. Accordingly, this thesis selected 19 children's sexuality education books for parents(hereinafter referred to as “parent sexuality education books”) published within the past 5 years by experts in charge of sexuality education in Korea, reviewed the trends and topics of parent sexuality education books, childbirth, and abortion, we select four topics(sexual intercourse, contraception, childbirth, abortion) to analyze their contents and perspectives, and present problems and suggestions. As a result of the study, the topics from parents' sexuality education books were biased towards topics that explained some sexual issues, and the content explaining them contained anti-life elements. Furthermore, differences in interpretation can be found according to various perspectives on sexuality, and as a result of this, the topics and contents of sexuality education lack consistency or morality. Sexual intercourse, which is an act toward life, contraception, which rejects the conception of life, and abortion, which kills life, on the contrary, birth, which is the entire process of conceiving and giving birth to life, are all connected to sexuality and life. One of the important reasons why sexuality education is a burden in many families is because human sexuality is directly related to human life, making the topic serious and difficult. Since human life is a value that must be protected and promoted above all else, we need firm and clear standards and perspectives on life. Accordingly, this paper seeks to reinterpret human sexuality based on the concept of personality and the perspective of personalism.
