국문 초록

본 연구는 디지털 사회에서 요구되는 민주 시민 역량 강화를 위해 초등학생을 대상으로 대화형 AI를 이용한 도덕성 교육 방안에 초점을 맞추었다. 대화형 AI의 등장으로 인한 사회적 영향과 초등교육 환경에서의 우려점을 탐구하고, 이를 해결하기 위한 도덕적 판단력 및 비판적 사고력 함양 방안을 제시하였다. 연구는 도덕적 딜레마 상황을 활용한 토의·토론 수업의 중요성을 강조하며, 대화형 AI의 보조 도구로서의 가능성을 고찰하였다. AI의 편향적 데이터 학습 문제 및 정보의 무비판적 수용 문제를 개선하기 위해 양심에 기초한 도덕성 이해, 발달 단계에 적합한 도덕적 딜레마 상황의 제시, 토의·토론 중심의 학습 과정을 통해 도덕적 추론 능력을 함양하는 데 중점을 두었다. 특히 대화형 AI를 교사의 보조 도구로 활용하여 다양한 문화적·시대적 맥락에서의 윤리 기준 비교, 토론 진행 지원, 피드백 제공, 역할극 대본 작성 등을 교육 현장에 적용할 수 있는 가능성을 제시하였다. 또한 교사의 적극적인 지도와 AI의 보조적 활용을 결합하여 초등학생들이 스스로의 판단 기준을 형성하고, 도덕적 논의에 능동적으로 참여할 수 있도록 하는 학습 환경 조성을 목표로 삼았다. 본 연구는 대화형 AI를 통해 도덕성과 비판적 사고력을 강화할 수 있는 새로운 교육 방법을 제안하며, 향후 디지털 교육 환경에서의 민주 시민 교육의 방향성을 논의하였다.

영문 초록

This study focuses on exploring moral education strategies for elementary school students through the use of conversational artificial intelligence (AI), with the aim of strengthening democratic citizenship competencies required in the digital society. The research investigates the social impact of conversational AI, the concerns it raises in elementary education, and proposes approaches to fostering moral judgment and critical thinking as solutions. Emphasis is placed on the importance of discussion-based learning using moral dilemma situations, while examining the potential of conversational AI as a supportive educational tool. To address issues such as biased data learning and the uncritical acceptance of information, the study highlights approaches including the cultivation of conscience-based morality, the presentation of age-appropriate moral dilemmas, and the promotion of moral reasoning through discussion-oriented learning. In particular, the study explores the application of conversational AI in the classroom to compare ethical standards across cultures and eras, facilitate discussions, provide feedback, and generate role-play scenarios. Furthermore, it proposes that combining teachers’ active guidance with AI’s supportive functions can help elementary students establish their own criteria for judgment and engage actively in moral discourse. This study suggests a new educational approach to strengthening morality and critical thinking through conversational AI, and discusses the future direction of democratic citizenship education in the digital learning environment.
