국문 초록

Modern society is at a critical turning point, transitioning from the industrial age to an intelligent information society centered on artificial intelligence (AI). The rapid development of science and technology has brought about the concept of ‘singularity’, and human civilization is entering an era of qualitative leap. This civilizational change has had a profound impact on the design field, and designers have moved away from traditional manufacturing-based thinking and have begun to seek new directions through artistic and experimental practices. This study aims to rethink the concepts of ‘production’ and ‘growth’ in furniture design and explore a sustainable generative design model through the fusion of biological growth logic and technology. To this end, the study is conducted in the following three aspects. The first is the exploration of generative design. It aims to present a dynamic design process that utilizes the autonomy and vitality of materials, breaking away from the traditional mechanized manufacturing method. Through this, it aims to establish a new paradigm that transforms furniture design from a fixed form-centered to a living organism. The second is the establishment of dynamic aesthetics. It redefines the aesthetic value of design in the continuous flow of time and space. Through the process of furniture changing and evolving during use, it presents an aesthetic system that expands from a static object to a visual narrative connected to life. The third is the restructuring of the designer's role. It seeks a new design practice model that allows designers to move away from being creators focused on form and transform into ecological creators who coordinate natural growth processes and interact with the environment. In this way, this study aims to challenge the stereotypical aesthetic stereotypes of the existing industrial society through bio-organic furniture design and to suggest the possibility of a new ecological design in which technology and life, humans and nature coexist harmoniously.
