규방가사의 향유층과 기능에 대한 재고찰 - 현대적 계승의 관점을 포괄하여

국문 초록

한글 가사로 여성들이 주체가 되어 활발하게 같은 여성이나 남성과 노래로 소통하고 또 이 작품들을 필사해 보존할 수 있게 되었다는 점에서, 규방가사 향유 문화는 조선후기 당시로서는 그 자체로 대단한 젠더 혁신 과정이었다고 볼 수 있다. 문화적 소통에 있어 새로운 시대를 열었다는 관점에서 볼 때 조선후기 한글의 교육과 보급은 최근 20~21세기적 상황에서 본다면 디지털 기기나 인공지능 등의 발전과 활용에 비견될 수 있지 않을까 생각한다. 문화적 소통을 넘어서 인간의 삶과 관계의 양상을 획기적으로 변화시켰다는 점에서 그러하다고 보인다. 규방가사가 형성 단계에서 그 훨씬 전부터 향유되던 사대부가사의 영향을 받았다는 점은 지극히 당연하지만, 젠더 혁신의 관점에서 바라볼 때 양반층 여성들을 중심으로 한글이 널리 보급된 이후 향촌사족층 여성들 사이에서 창작, 향유되기 시작한 규방사가의 의미는 사대부 문학 전반에서 가사가 차지하는 의미와는 비교할 수 없을 만큼 큰 역사 문화적 변화의 계기가 되었다. 이러한 관점에서 최근에 대두되는 인공지능 쳇-GPT를 활용한 창작 글쓰기 환경의 도래나 OTT와 같이 세계를 상대로 자율적인 시장 원리에 따라 움직이는 온라인 플랫폼의 활성화 등도 새로운 문자로의 소통이나 인터넷의 활용에 버금가는 현대적 의미에서의 새로운 문화의 장이 열린 것이라 할 수 있다. 이러한 새로운 문화의 유통 과정에 자본이나 이념, 국가 논리 등 우선적으로 드러나는 사항 외에도 인종이나 종교, 환경이나 젠더 등의 세밀한 척도에 따른 문제는 없는지 치밀하게 따져보아야 할 것이다. 이 논문에서는 젠더 혁신의 관점에서 규방가사의 장르적 특성을 포용, 소통, 치유의 화두를 들어 설명하면서, 그와 같은 특성이 시대 변화에 따라 변형된 형태이기는 하나 인터넷상에서 현대에까지 유지되고 있음을 확인했다. 진정한 젠더 혁신은 ‘성(性)을 기준으로 바라본 인권의 평등’이라는 기본 전제가 과학 기술의 발전이나 인간관계 소통망의 변화 및 이와 관련된 학문적 동향의 추이와 관계 없이 인류의 역사 속에서 줄곧 지켜져 나가는 것이라고 생각한다.

영문 초록

The culture of enjoying Gyubanggasa can be seen as a great gender innovation process in the late Joseon Dynasty in that women became the subject of Korean lyrics, actively communicating with the same women or men through songs, and transcribing and preserving these works. From the perspective of opening a new era in cultural communication, I think that the education and dissemination of Hangul in the late Joseon Dynasty can be compared to the development and use of digital devices and artificial intelligence in the recent 20th and 21st centuries. This seems to be the case in that it has drastically changed the aspect of human life and relations beyond cultural communication. It is very natural that Gyubang's lyrics were influenced by the Sadaebu-gasa, which were enjoyed long before the formation stage, but from the perspective of gender innovation, the meaning of Gyubang's song, which began to be created and enjoyed among the women of the Hyangchon family after Hangul was widely distributed among the Yangban class women, was an opportunity for a huge historical and cultural change that could not be compared to the meaning of lyrics in the literature of the Sadaebu. From this point of view, the recent emergence of a creative writing environment using artificial intelligence ChatGPT and the activation of online platforms that move according to autonomous market principles in the world, such as OTT, have opened a new cultural arena in a modern sense comparable to communication with new letters and the use of the Internet. In addition to issues that are revealed first, such as capital, ideology, and national logic, it is necessary to carefully examine whether there are any problems with detailed measures such as race, religion, environment, or gender in the distribution process of this new culture. In this paper, we explained the genre characteristics of Gyubanggasa from the perspective of gender innovation by listening to topics such as tolerance, communication, and healing, confirming that such characteristics are maintained on the Internet to modern times, although they are modified. I think that true gender innovation is that the basic premise of “equality of human rights based on gender” is maintained throughout human history regardless of the development of science and technology, changes in the communication network of human relations, and trends in academic trends related to it.
