국문 초록

본 연구는 성인 발달장애 자녀를 둔 부모의 평생계획 설계에 영향을 미치는 요인을 분석하고자 하였다. 이를 위해 부모의 개인적 요인(연령, 학력, 경제수준, 회복탄력성), 사회적 요인(자조집단의 지지, 사회적 지지), 자녀 특성 요인(자녀 연령, 월평균 근로소득, 일상생활 수행능력) 간의 관계를 위계적 회귀분석을 통해 검토하였다. 연구 결과, 1단계에서는 부모의 연령, 회복탄력성이 평생계획 설계에 유의미한 정적 영향을 미쳤으며, 2단계에서는 부모의 연령, 회복탄력성과 자조집단의 지지가 정적 영향을 미쳤다. 3단계에서는 부모의 회복탄력성, 자조집단의 지지, 자녀의 일상생활 수행능력 및 자녀의 월평균 근로소득이 모두 정적 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 최종적으로, 자녀의 일상생활 수행능력, 자조집단의 지지, 부모의 회복탄력성, 자녀의 월평균 근로소득 순서로 영향력이 크게 나타났다. 이 연구 결과를 토대로, 부모의 회복탄력성을 향상시키기 위한 심리·정서적 지원과 실질적인 평생계획 설계를 지원하는 체계적 기반 마련이 요구된다. 또한 부모에게 실질적인 지원을 제공하는 자조모임 활성화 및 자녀의 자립생활역량을 높이기 위한 통합형 교육 프로그램 제공을 제언하고자 한다.

영문 초록

This study aimed to analyze factors influencing the design of a Permanency Plan by parents of adult children with developmental disabilities. Hierarchical regression analysis was conducted to examine relationships among parental individual factors (age, education level, economic status, resilience), social factors (support from self-help groups, social support), and child-related characteristics (child’s age, average monthly income, and daily living skills). Results showed that in the first stage, parental age and resilience had a significant positive effect on the design of the Permanency Plan. In the second stage, support from self-help groups was added to these factors. It also showed a positive effect. In the third and final stage, parental resilience, support from self-help groups, the child’s daily living skills, and the child’s average monthly income all had significant positive effects. Among these, the child’s daily living skills, support from self-help groups, parental resilience, and the child’s average monthly income had the greatest influences in that order. Based on these findings, it is necessary to establish psychological and emotional support systems to enhance parental resilience and to develop practical support systems for designing Permanency Plans. Additionally, this study suggests that it is important to promote self-help groups that offer substantial support to parents and provide integrated education programs to enhance independent living skills of adult children with developmental disabilities.
