[Background]As humanity's understanding of the world continues to deepen, our position in the vast universe has become increasingly ambiguous. This concept of “ambiguity” has gradually permeated contemporary art and design, particularly standing out in the field of visual communication design. As a medium that blends information dissemination with artistic expression, visual communication design is undergoing a shift from explicit representation toward ambiguous and polysemous forms of expression. [Objective]This study focuses on “ambiguous expression” in visual communication design, thoroughly investigating its practical application value and representational characteristics, with the aim of providing theoretical support and creative inspiration for contemporary designers. [Method] The study employs a combined methodology of literature analysis and case studies of representative design works. It examines ambiguous expression through multiple lenses—including form, methodology, emotional resonance, and aesthetic principles—to systematically delineate its core characteristics. Furthermore, the research explores practical application strategies through cultural element extraction, the interplay of tangible and intangible design elements, and gradient aesthetics. [Results] The research demonstrates that ambiguous design can effectively enhance the inclusivity, openness, and artistic quality of visual communication, while possessing multidirectional interpretability and heightened emotional expressiveness. Its characteristics—including abstraction, polysemy, and symbolic transformation—significantly enrich the expressive repertoire of visual language. [Conclusion] Ambiguous expression represents not merely an innovation in design language, but more significantly serves as a crucial driver propelling visual communication art toward humanization, avant-garde experimentation, and futuristic development. It expands the boundaries of design practice and opens new possibilities for the evolution of future visual language systems.

영문 초록

【背景】随着人类对世界认知的不断深入,人类在浩瀚宇宙中的定位变得日益模糊。这种“模糊性”观念也逐步渗透到当代艺术与设计领域,尤其在视觉传达设计中表现尤为突出。视觉传达设计作为一种融合信息传播与艺术表达的手段,正经历从明确表达向模糊、多义表达的趋势转变。 【目的】本文旨在以视觉传达设计中的“模糊性表达”为研究核心,深入探讨其在设计实践中的应用价值和表现特征,为当代设计师提供理论支持与创作思路。 【方法】文章通过文献分析与典型设计案例研究相结合的方法,从模糊性表达的形式、方法、情感及审美等角度入手,归纳其核心特征。同时,从文化元素提炼、虚实结合设计、渐变美学等策略角度探讨其实际运用路径。 【结果】研究表明,模糊性设计能有效增强视觉传达的包容性、开放性与艺术性,具有多向解读性和高度的情感表达能力。其抽象性、多义性、符号转化等特征,丰富了视觉语言的表现手段。 【结论】模糊性表达不仅是一种设计语言的创新,更是推动视觉传达艺术向人性化、前卫化、未来化方向发展的重要手段。它拓展了设计的边界,为未来视觉语言体系的演变提供了新的可能性。
