국문 초록
This study investigates how different communication methods influence peer
assessment in second language (L2) presentation learning, guided by four research
questions concerning preferred communication modes, the impact on feedback
clarity and constructiveness, the perceived value of peer assessment, and the
challenges of the communication process. The study employed a mixed-methods
design, collecting quantitative data from a total of 145 university students via
surveys, and qualitative insights from semi-structured interviews with a subset of
14 participants. The findings revealed that most students valued peer feedback,
especially when structured assessment tools such as rubrics were used, as they
provided clear evaluation criteria and improved the reliability and accuracy of
feedback. While students generally reported comfort in both giving and receiving
feedback, language (L2) barriers emerged as the most significant challenge, often
limiting students’ ability to articulate detailed and constructive evaluations.
Additionally, some students expressed a lack of confidence in assessing peers'
work, indicating the need for further guidance and scaffolding. These results
suggest that incorporating structured rubrics, confidence-building strategies, and
language support mechanisms can improve the quality and effectiveness of peer
assessment. Furthermore, teacher intervention or moderation may help ensure the
consistency and educational value of peer feedback in L2 presentation classrooms.
