대학 융합전공 과정 운영에 대한 참여 학생의 인식 탐색

국문 초록

본 연구는 대학에서 융합전공 운영의 활성화를 기대하며, 융합전공 운영의 질적 제고 방안을 도출하고자 참여 학생들의 인식을 파악하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 연구 목적을 달성하기 위하여 A 대학교의 ‘융합전공 참여 후기 공모전’ 출품작 내 44편의 글에 대하여 핵심어를 중심으로 의미연결망을 분석하였다. 연구 결과, 33개의 빈출 단어와 76개의 빈출 단어쌍을 바탕으로 5개의 인식 유형(융합전공 및 융합교육에 대한 기대, 융합전공의 장점, 융합전공 개설 교과의 특징, 융합전공 활성화를 위한 홍보방안, 융합전공 교과의 교수-학습 개선방안)이 나타났다. 융합 전공 참여 학생들은 A대학에서 제공하는 융합 전공 및 융합교육에 대하여 장점과 개설 교과의 특징을 중심으로 융합전공 교육과정의 특성을 인지하고 있었으며, 교수-학습 중심의 개선방안과 학생 대상 홍보방안을 토대로 융합전공 운영의 질적 제고 방안에 관심을 갖고 있는 것으로 나타났다. 이와 같이 융합전공 교육과정에 실제 참여한 경험이 있는 학생들의 인식을 살펴봄으로써 학습자 중심의 시사점을 도출하고, A 대학교 및 국내 대학 교육에서 융합전공 운영의 활성화를 기대할 수 있을 것이다.

영문 초록

The study aims to identify ways to improve the quality of interdisciplinary major programs in university, with a focus on understanding the perceptions of students participating in such programs. To achieve this, the study analyzed 44 essays submitted to the “Interdisciplinary Major Participation Review Contest” at University A, using a semantic network analysis based on key terms. The analysis revealed 33 frequently occurring words and 76 frequently occurring word pairs, leading to the identification of five distinct perception types: expectations for interdisciplinary majors and education, advantages of interdisciplinary majors, characteristics of the courses offered in interdisciplinary majors, promotional strategies for enhancing interdisciplinary major programs, and strategies for improving teaching and learning in interdisciplinary courses. Participants in the interdisciplinary major programs at University A recognized the characteristics of the interdisciplinary curriculum, focusing on the advantages and course features of the offered programs. They also expressed interest in strategies to enhance the quality of interdisciplinary major programs, based on improvements in teaching and learning and promotional activities targeted at students. By examining the perceptions of students who have actively participated in interdisciplinary programs, this study provides learner-centered insights and highlights ways to promote the development of interdisciplinary major programs at University A and in universities across Korea.
