국문 초록

목적: 안구건조증 환자에서 IDRA와 Keratograph 5M 두 기계의 검사 결과를 비교하여 임상에서 호환하여 사용 가능할지 연구하였다. 대상과 방법: 2022년 12월 27-30일 동안 Keratograph 5M과 IDRA 기계를 사용하여 안구건조증 환자 30명을 대상으로 시행하였다. 대응표본 t 검정을 통해 Keratograph 5M과 IDRA 검사에서의 눈물 지방층, 눈물띠 높이, 눈물막파괴시간, 마이봄샘 등급을 비교 분석하였다. Keratograph 5M에서 눈물지방층은 등급 0-4로 두께를 표기하였다. 결과: 눈물막파괴시간, 눈물띠 높이, 마이봄샘 등급 모두 두 기기 사이에 유의한 차이가 없었다(p=0.148, 0.072, 0.124). 눈물 지방층은Keratograph 5M의 grade에 따라 IDRA에서의 측정두께가 연관성 있게 비례하였다(Kendall R=0.217, p=0.037; Spearman R=0.260, p=0.045). 결론: IDRA는 안구건조증 검사를 한 번에 할 수 있어 시간이 단축되고 눈물 지방층 두께가 수치로 나온다는 이점이 있다. IDRA는Keratograph 5M과 비교하여 안구건조증 검사 결과가 차이가 없어 안구건조증 진단 및 치료에 편리할 것으로 사료된다.

영문 초록

Purpose: To evaluate the compatibility and usability of test results obtained from the IDRA and Keratograph 5M in clinical settings by comparing their performance in patients with dry eye disease. Methods: From December 27 to 30, 2022, a study was conducted on 30 patients diagnosed with dry eye utilizing both the Keratograph 5M and IDRA devices. The parameters compared and analyzed included lipid layer thickness, tear meniscus height, tear film break-up time, and meibography. A paired t-test was used for statistical comparison. The lipid layer thickness in the Keratograph 5M was graded on a scale from 0 to 4 based on thickness. Results: No significant differences were found between the two devices in tear film break-up time, tear meniscus height, and meibography (p = 0.148, 0.072, 0.124, respectively). However, the tear lipid layer thickness measured by IDRA showed a proportional relationship with the grade assigned by the Keratograph 5M (Kendall R = 0.217, p = 0.037; Spearman R = 0.260, p = 0.045). Conclusions: The IDRA device offers the advantage of performing multiple dry eye tests; simultaneously, thereby saving time compared to the Keratograph 5M. Both devices can be used compatibly with IDRA particularly advantageous for providing a numerical value for tear lipid layer thickness which enhances the convenience of dry eye diagnosis and treatment.
