국문 초록

본 연구에서는 1994-2021년 국내 KOSPI 기업데이터를 이용하여 금융화가 기업내 노동소득분배율에 미친 영향을 분석하였다. 금융화 지표로는 배당금 지급과자사주 구입비용을 합산한 뒤 로그 변환시켜 사용하거나 자산총계 또는 당기순이익으로 표준화시킨 변수와 금융자산/자산총계 비율을 사용하였다. 종속변수로는노동소득분배율 또는 임금/매출액 비율을 사용하였다. 금융화의 인과적 효과를 추정하기 위해 본 연구에서는 도구변수(IV) 추정을 실시하였는데 도구변수로는 대주주의 갑작스러운 사망, 심각한 건강 악화 또는 10억원 이상 상속ㆍ증여세 이벤트 발생 여부, 외국인 주식 보유율 등을 사용하였다. 분석결과 고정효과 모형에서는 금융화가 노동소득분배율을 통계적으로 유의하게 낮춘다는 결과가 도출되었으나 도구변수 추정을 통해 금융화 변수의 내생성을 통제하면 배당금 지급과 자사주 구입으로 측정되는 금융화가 노동소득분배율에 미친 통계적으로 유의미한효과는 확인되지 않았다.

영문 초록

This study analyzes the impact of financialization on labor income share within firms using Korean listed firm data for the period 1994-2021. As an indicator of financialization, I use the ratio of financial asset to total asset and the sum of dividend payments and stock buyback costs, which are log-transformed, or standardized to total assets or net income. As dependent variables, labor income share or wage/sales ratio are used. To estimate the causal effect of financialization, instrumental variable (IV) estimation are used, and the instrumental variables are the foreign ownership, sudden death or serious health deterioration of a major shareholder, or the occurrence of an inheritance and gift tax event of KRW 1 billion or more. The results show that financialization reduces the labor income share statistically significantly in the fixed effects model, but when controlling for the endogeneity of the financialization variable through instrumental variable estimation, there is no statistically significant effect of financialization by dividend and stock buyback on the labor income share.
