Purpose - This paper leverages the Haver Framework to expand its application in the financial analysis of the private science and technology communication industry. Specifically, it aims to identify and address issues within Huawei, thereby validating the Haver Framework’s applicability in this sector. By focusing on Huawei, a leading global technology company, the study seeks to uncover underlying problems and propose strategic solutions to enhance its operational efficiency and financial stability.
Design/Methodology/Approach - The study employs a comprehensive case study method using the Haver Framework to conduct an in-depth analysis of Huawei. This involves evaluating the company’s current operations from multiple perspectives, including strategic, accounting, financial, and prospective viewpoints. The analysis is further enriched by incorporating SWOT analysis and various qualitative and quantitative tools to assess Huawei’s financial and business conditions. Through this multifaceted approach, the study aims to provide specific growth suggestions tailored to Huawei’s unique challenges and opportunities.
Findings - The analysis reveals that Huawei’s profitability has become increasingly unstable due to a significant reduction in government subsidies. This financial instability poses a threat to the company’s long-term growth and sustainability. To achieve sustainable growth, the study suggests that Huawei must reduce its reliance on policy support and instead focus on optimizing its internal resources. By leveraging its internal strengths and addressing its weaknesses, Huawei can enhance its resilience and adaptability in a rapidly changing market environment.
Research Implications - This study significantly enhances the theoretical scope of the Haver Framework by applying it to a real-world case within the private science and technology communication industry. By providing a comprehensive analysis of Huawei’s operations and future prospects, the research highlights the practical challenges the company faces and offers specific, actionable recommendations for its development. This not only validates the Haver Framework’s applicability but also contributes valuable insights into strategic financial management for similar companies in the industry.
