본 연구에서는 노인의 죽음불안이 자아통합감에 미치는 영향을 파악하고 노인의 불안과 자아통합감과의관계에서 사회적 유대감의 매개효과를 알아보고자 하였다. 본 연구는 A시와 Y군에 거주하는 60세 이상지역주민을 대상으로 2023년 09월부터 11월까지 자료수집하였으며, 수집된 자료 중 290부를 SPSS 28.0 Statistics Program을 이용하여 다중 회귀분석(Multiple Regression Analysis)하였다. 연구결과 죽음불안은자아통합감. 사회적 유대감과 부적 상관관계가 있었으며, 자아통합감은 사회적 유대감과 정적 상관관계가 있었다. 또한, 노인의 불안과 자아통합감과의 관계에서 사회적 유대감은 부분매개하는 것으로 나타났으며, 모형의 설명력은 31%였다. 노년기 죽음불안에서 벗어나 죽음을 자신의 삶의 일부로 수용하고노인의 발달과업인 자아통합감을 올바르게 형성하기 위해 사회적 유대감 향상이 필요하며, 이를 위한다양한 프로그램이 요구된다.

영문 초록

This study aims to understand the impact of death anxiety on ego integrity among the elderly and to examine the mediating effect of social connectedness on the relationship between anxiety and ego integrity. Data were collected from residents aged 60 and above living in City A and County Y from September to November 2023. Out of the collected data, 290 responses were analyzed using the SPSS 28.0 Statistics Program and multiple regression analysis. The results revealed that death anxiety had a negative correlation with both ego integrity and social connectedness, while ego integrity had a positive correlation with social connectedness. Furthermore, social connectedness was found to partially mediate the relationship between anxiety and ego integrity, with the model explaining 31% of the variance. The study concludes that to help the elderly move beyond death anxiety, accept death as a part of life, and correctly form ego integrity a developmental task in old age improvements in social connectedness are necessary, along with the development of various supportive programs.
