국문 초록
This study examines the impact of feminism on women's political representation in the UK, tracing its historical development, significant achievements, and ongoing challenges. It explores how feminist ideologies have shaped political discourse and legislation, contributing to increased female participation in British politics. The study highlights key milestones, such as the election of female Prime Ministers Margaret Thatcher and Theresa May, as well as the rise in the number of female Members of Parliament in recent years. Despite these advances, the paper also addresses the persistent barriers women face in politics, including patriarchal structures, gender bias in the media, and under representation in senior political roles. Furthermore, it discusses the role of feminism in advocating for legislative changes, particularly in areas like gender equality and workplace rights. The paper concludes by reflecting on the continued need for feminist engagement in politics to overcome systemic challenges and achieve true gender parity in political representation.
