국문 초록

어린이 교통안전은 전 세계적으로 중요한 사회적 이슈 중 하나이다. 특히 스쿨존(어린이 보호구역)에서는 사고의 예방을 하는 방안을 마련하는 게 중요하며, 교통사고로 인한 어린이들의 피해를 최소화하는 것이 매우 중요하다. 최근 몇 년간 정부와 관련 기관에서는 스쿨존의 안전성을 높이기 위해 다양한 정책과 시설 개선을 추진해 왔다. 그러나 이러한 노력에도 불구하고 여전히 많은 어린이들이 스쿨존 내에서 교통사고의 위험에 노출되어 있다. 따라서 기존의 사인 시스템의 조건은 보행자의 주의와 보행자가 스스로 확인하는 조건인 상태를 운전자의 주의와 운전자들을 위한 사인 조건으로 개선하는 아이디어를 제안해 보는 것이다. 이는 운전자들이 ‘스쿨존을 인식하고 해당 구역에서 안전운전을 할 수 있도록 사인의 조건을 명확하게 안전 운전 방법을 인식할 수 있도록 하는 것이 필요하다. 따라서 본 연구는 이론적 고찰을 통해 스쿨존의 개념, 현재 상황 및 문제점을 분석하고, 스쿨존 내 운전자의 사인인식 개선을 위한 디자인 방안을 제안하고자 한다. 이는 스쿨존의 안전성을 높이고 어린이들의 안전한 통학을 지원하는 데 목적이 있다. 운전자의 어린이 보호구역 인지 개선을 통해 어린이 교통사고를 줄이기 위한 방안을 모색하기 위한 목적이 있다. 운전자의 적극적인 안전 운전 방안을 위해 스쿨존 내 보행자 안전을 위한 안전 펜스와 연계된 결합형 고보조명과 함께 사인물은 매우 중요한 역할을 할 수 있으며, 스쿨존 주변의 운전자들에게 어린이들의 존재를 시각적으로 강조하고, 운전자들에게 사인물을 통해 스쿨존의 인지와 우회전의 위험 인식을 할 수 있다. 연구배경을 바탕으로 본 연구는 스쿨존 지역의 운전자를 위한 주의 및 보행자주의 사인을 연구하였다. 유니버설디자인 개념을 적용하여 이용자 모두에게 안전한 스쿨존의 사인물을 제공할 수 있도록 개선 방안을 제시하는 데 목적이 있다.

영문 초록

Children's traffic safety is one of the important social issues around the world. In particular, it is important to prepare measures to prevent accidents in school zones (children's protection zones), and it is very important to minimize damage to children due to traffic accidents. In recent years, the government and related organizations have promoted various policies and facility improvements to increase the safety of school zones. However, despite these efforts, many children are still exposed to the risk of traffic accidents in school zones. Therefore, we are proposing an idea to improve the condition of the existing sign system, which is a condition for pedestrian attention and self-checking by pedestrians, to a condition for driver attention and sign conditions for drivers. This is necessary so that drivers can clearly recognize the status of signs and safe driving methods to recognize school zones and drive safely in those zones. Therefore, this study analyzes the concept, status, and problems of school zones through theoretical considerations, and proposes a design plan to improve driver sign recognition in school zones. The purpose is to increase safety in school areas and support safe transportation of children to and from school. The purpose is to find ways to reduce traffic accidents involving children by improving drivers' awareness of child protection zones. To encourage drivers to drive actively and safely, signs, combined with safety fences and high auxiliary lights for pedestrian safety in school zones, can play a very important role in visually highlighting the presence of children to drivers around school zones. Signs can also be used to alert drivers to school zones and the dangers of right turns. In this study, based on this research background, we studied caution signs for drivers and pedestrians in school zones. The purpose is to apply the universal design concept to suggest improvement measures that can provide safe school zone signage to all users.
