국문 초록

TED Talks enjoy immense popularity globally, and the translation of their subtitles has garnered significant attention. However, in subtitle translation, the functions of discourse markers is different from that of spoken language translation because of the particularity of subtitle translation. Given the constrained, generalized, and fleeting nature of subtitles, translators need to adopt diverse translation strategies, such as omission, literal translation, and free translation, etc. This paper will explore the English-Chinese translation strategies of discourse markers in TED Talks, which have been insufficiently studied from the perspective of Skopos Theory, and illustrates the feasibility based on data and examples. It aims to uncover the distribution patterns of different translation strategies so as to provide valuable references for the English-Chinese translation of discourse markers in subtitles of English TED Talks.

영문 초록

TED 演讲在全球范围具有巨大的知名度，其字幕翻译也同样备受人们的关注。在字幕翻译中，话语标记语所具有的功能会因字幕翻译的特殊性而不同于一般的口语翻译。由于字幕具有受限性、概括性和瞬时性的特征，译者在对字幕翻译中的话语标记语进行翻译时需要采用不同的翻译策略，如省译、直译、意译等。本文将从翻译目的论的角度，结合数据分析，对前人较少研究的TED 演讲中的话语标记语进行汉译策略方面的探索，发掘不同翻译策略的分布规律，以期对后续TED 英文演讲字幕中的话语标记语的汉译提供参考。
