상담 실습을 활용한 ‘상담 이론과 실제’ 수강생의 역량 강화: 모의 상담 관찰 경험을 통한 자기-보고를 중심으로

국문 초록

이 연구는 ‘상담 이론과 실제’ 과목을 수강한 학부생들이 모의 상담 세션을 관찰함으로써 얻는 경험에 대해 조사하여, 이러한 관찰이 학생들의 개인적 성장, 이론적 이해, 그리고 실질적인 상담 기술 개발에 어떻게 기여하는지를 탐색하고자 한다. 합의적 질적연구-수정(CQR-M) 방법을 사용하여, 20명의 여학생들의 경험을 반영하는 3개의 주제, 10개의 영역과 26개의 하위영역이 도출되었다. 연구 결과, 전반적인 경험으로는 학생들이 탐색 단계와 기법 사용, 상담 과정과 통찰 단계도 이해하며, 상담자가 내담자의 변화와 실행 단계에서 하는 역할을 인식할 수 있었음을 보고하였다. 장점으로는 모의 상담을 관찰하면서 통찰을 얻고, 상담 기법과 상담자의 자기 개방 사용을 이해했다는 것이 도출되었다. 어려운 점으로는 학생들은 상담자의 태도와 의사소통, 내담자 중심 접근법, 상담자의 역량 및 전문성을 내면화하는 것이 쉽지 않다는 점을 배웠다고 보고하였다. 전반적으로, 이 연구는 상담 교육과정에 모의 상담 관찰을 통합하는 것이 학생들의 능력과 전문적 실습 준비성을 크게 향상시킬 수 있으며, 미래 커리큘럼 개발을 위한 중요한 데이터를 제공할 수 있음을 시사한다.

영문 초록

This study explores the experiences of undergraduate students enrolled in the “Counseling Theory and Practice” course by examining how observing mock counseling sessions contributes to their personal growth, theoretical understanding, and practical counseling skill development. Using the Consensual Qualitative Research-Modified (CQR-M) method, the study derived 3 themes, 10 domains, and 26 sub-domains reflecting the experiences of 20 female students. The results indicate that, in terms of overall experience, students reported gaining an understanding of the exploration phase, the use of techniques, the counseling process, and the insight stage, as well as recognizing the counselor's role in facilitating client change during the action phase. As a key advantage, students reported gaining insights from observing mock counseling and understanding both counseling techniques and the use of counselor self-disclosure. On the challenging side, students found it difficult to internalize the counselor's attitude, communication, client-centered approach, and the counselor's competence and professionalism. Overall, the study suggests that integrating mock counseling observations into counseling education programs can significantly enhance students' abilities and readiness for professional practice, providing critical data for future curriculum development.
