장애인가족과 비장애인가족의 가족기능 비교연구

국문 초록

본 연구는 장애인가족의 가족기능을 파악하기 위하여 McMaster Family Assessment Devise (McMaster 가족사정도구)를 사용하여 비장애인가족과 비교 분석하였다. 성인장애인가족, 장애아동가족, 비장애인가족의 가족기능 7개 하위영역별 비교를 위해서는 다변인 변량분석인 MANOVA를 실시하였고, 조사대상자의 인구사회학적 특성과 가족기능 하위영역별 상관관계를 알아보기 위하여 Correlation을 실시하였다. 분석결과 첫째, 장애인가족은 비장애인가족에 비하여 정서적 관여를 제외한 문제해결능력, 의사소통, 역할, 정서적 반응, 행동통제, 일반적 기능 등 가족기능의 하위영역 전반에 걸쳐 낮은 수준으로 기능하고 있는 것으로 나타났으며 특히 행동통제기능과 역할수행기능에서 가장 많은 차이가 있었다. 둘째, 성인장애인가족은 장애아동가족에 비하여 7가지 가족기능의 하위영역 전반에서 모두 낮은 수준으로 기능하고 있는 것으로 나타났는데 특히 행동통제기능, 일반적 기능, 역할기능, 정서적 반응 기능에서 가장 큰 차이를 보이는 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 장애인가족의 일반적 사항과 가족기능 하위영역별 상관관계를 보면 장애인의 나이가 많을수록 전반적인 가족기능의 수준이 낮고 특히 역할, 정서적 반응, 행동통제, 일반적 기능이 유의미하게 낮은 것으로 나타났다. 넷째, 장애인의 장애발생시기가 늦을수록 전반적인 가족기능의 수준이 낮게 나타났고, 역할, 정서적 반응, 행동통제 기능이 유의미하게 낮은 것으로 나타났다. 다섯째, 비장애인가족의 경우는 가족소득이 많을수록 가족의 역할기능과 행동통제기능이 떨어지고 응답자의 나이가 많을수록 전반적인 가족기능의 수준이 높게 나타났다. 특히 나이와 문제해결기능, 의사소통기능, 역할기능, 정서적 반응기능, 일반적 기능 등이 유의미한 정적상관관계를 보였다. 이처럼 장애인가족은 대체로 어려운 가운데 적응하며 살아가고 있지만 심도 있게 분석해 보면 가족기능에 있어서 다양한 문제를 지니고 있음을 알 수 있다. 따라서 사회복지실천현장에서는 이러한 점들을 반드시 고려하여 적절한 서비스를 제공하여야 할 것이다.

영문 초록

This study proposes to compare the family function of disabled and non-disabled families by using the McMaster FAD(McMaster Family Assessment Device). In order to compare seven subdivisions of family function in a family with a disabled adult, a family with a disabled child, and a non-disabled family and reveal mutual relationships between the population-sociological features of the examinees and the subdivision of family function. I conducted MANOVA, which is an analysis of multi-variables, and carried out correlation. The results are as follows: First, the disabled family functions at a lower degree than the non-disabled family in general subdivisions of family function, such as problem solving, communication, role, and behavior control, but did not function at a lower degree in the subdivision of emotional involvement. Second, a family with a disabled adult functions at a lower degree than a family with a disabled child, especially in the areas of behavior control, general function, role, and emotional response. Third, the correlation between the general area of the disabled family and subdivisions of lowered family function corresponds to the age of the disabled family member. The family functions at a lower level especially in role, emotional response, and behavior control. Fourth, the older the disabled family member becomes, the lower the family function, especially in regards to role, emotional response, and behavior control. Fifth, in the non-disabled family, higher family income results in lower family function. The older the respondents are, the higher the family function works. Likewise, a disabled family usually lives in a difficult situation, but close analysis shows many problems in family function. Accordingly, it is highly recommendable that the field of social welfare provides corresponding services by considering the above results.
