영문 초록

This study attempted to find common design criteria from the perspective of human behavior for various rest areas. The following is a summary of the spatial characteristics that each rest area should aim for. In a complex commercial space, the rest area is summarized as convenience, location, aesthetics, comfort, publicity, and safety, and the rest area in the office is concentrated in multi-function, diversity, comfort, and playability. Cafes are the representative third space of modern people and are summarized as place, diversity, nature, playfulness, and culture, while public libraries are organized into comfort, multi-function, place, and aesthetics. In the case of rest areas in museums and art galleries, it is summarized as comfort, connection, accessibility, convenience, and complexity, and the public notice has spatial characteristics such as accessibility, activity, aesthetics, connectivity, and complexity. In addition, the outdoor rest area can organize spatial characteristics such as comfort, delay environment, accessibility, con- venience, location connectivity, and functionality. Overall, the use behavior of the rest area is an extended function that is convergent from the original function, and various demands appear. For environmental support, flexible furniture arrangement and public design based on universal design are required, and a checklist for architectural and spatial conditions and furni- ture design that can support this in detail was derived. In modern society, in order for various rest areas to function and play a role as a third place, they must have both private and public character, and these rest areas are essential and very important spaces to maintain a healthy daily life.
