유치원 평가 준거 개발과 평가 준거에 대한 중요도 분석

국문 초록

본 연구는 각 유치원이 자체적으로 기관 운영을 평가할 수 있는 척도를 개발하고자 하였다. 선행연구들이 개발한 척도는 주로 국가 및 지역교육청 차원에서 일괄적으로 평가할 수 있는 평가 척도였기 때문에 본 연구에서는 이러한 평가 유형을 지양하며, 각 유치원이 자체적으로 기관 운영을 평가하고 그 결과를 기초로 기관의 교육력을 높이는데 활용될 수 있는 평가 준거와 척도를 개발하고자 했다. 본 연구에서 개발된 유치원 평가 준거는 교육과정, 시설설비 및 운영관리, 지원체제 등 세 가지 평가준거와 9개의 평가 영역, 이에 따른 48개 평가 요소로 구성되어 있다. 유치원 설립 형태에 따라 이 평가 척도의 평가 준거별 중요도의 차이를 분석하였다. 연구 결과에 의하면 지원체제 영역이 가장 높게 평가되었고, 그 다음으로 교육과정 영역, 시설설비 및 운영관리 영역 순으로 나타났다. 추후 연구에서는 평가자의 대상의 범위를 확대하여 유치원에 근무하고 있는 교사, 원감, 원장을 대상으로 평가를 실시하고, 유치원의 운영 실태를 분석함으로써 기관 운영의 질적 수준을 높일 수 있는 평가 척도로 일반화시킬 연구가 이루어져야 할 것이다.

영문 초록

This research sought to develop yardsticks for kindergartens to evaluate themselves. Existing researches sought to develop measures for the state and regional offices of education to evaluate kindergartens as a whole. However, significantly, the evaluation yardstick presented by this research allow individual kindergartens to improve their respective service quality. The kindergarten evaluation reference developed in this research consists of three references for curriculum, facilities and operational management, and support systems, as well as of 48 evaluation elements. An analysis of the difference according to establishment types of kindergartens indicated that the area of support systems was considered the most important, followed by the area of curriculum, and facilities and operational management in this order. Future researches should expand the research target scope to survey kindergarten teachers, superintendents, and heads about the current state using the evaluation reference provided in this research. This will provide a good opportunity to improve the quality of preschooler educational institutions.
