영문 초록

The purpose of this study was to examine what factors, especially participation in NGOs, affected social capital. To attain the purpose, literature review and experimental research were conducted. The major findings of the study were as follows: First, The independent variables had a positive influence on social capital, and this finding implied that social capital was under the heavy influence of the different variables. Second, the NGO members had a more significant impact on diverse sorts of social capital than the non- members did. Third, every civic group exercised a big influence on various sorts of social capital. Fourth, The local residents didn t put confidence in the central and local governments, and there was a severe criticism against the participatory government and people s government that failed to gain confidence. In conclusion, it s necessary to vitalize civic groups and civil society, reform public sector, create a more trustworthy society, set up local civic organizations and further volunteer work in order to improve social capital.
