캄보디아 도농 간 교육격차 실태 분석 연구

국문 초록

[연구목적] 이 연구는 한국의 교육분야 중점협력국가인 캄보디아의 도농 간 중등교육 격차 실태를 살펴보고, 이를 토대로 향후 도농 간 교육 격차 해소를 위해 필요한 시사점을 도출하는데 목적이 있다. [연구방법] OECD의 PISA-D 자료를 활용해서 캄보디아 도농 간 교육격차 실태를 교육여건, 교육활동, 교육결과의 체제적 관점에서 분석하였다. 도시와 농촌의 교육격차를 실증적으로 확인하기 위해 기술통계와 독립 t검정을 실시하였으며 결과 해석에 관련 논문과 문헌 고찰을 통해 뒷받침하였다. [연구결과] 분석결과에 따르면 캄보디아 중등교육에서 도농 간의 격차는 학교의 주요 교육시설 중 특별시설과, ICT 관련 시설, 교원의 교육수준과 역량개발 참여, 엄격한 수업의 분위기, 자녀-부모와의 대화와 식사 시간, 가사 및 노동 참여, 학업성취도까지 교육의 전 과정에 걸쳐 나타나고 있으며, 도시보다 농촌의 교육여건과 환경이 전반적으로 낮은 수준에 머물고 있다. [결론] 캄보디아 중등학교에서 도시와 농촌 간의 교육격차가 발생하고 있다. 상대적으로 교육적 여건과 기회가 낮은 농촌 지역의 교육여건 개선과 학생의 다양한 교육과정 경험을 지원하기 위한 노력이 시급하다. 한편, 캄보디아의 교육시설과 교육경험의 차이는 결과의 격차로 이어질 개연성이 높으므로 캄보디아 학생 학업성취도와의 인과를 심도있게 다뤄야 할 필요가 있다.

영문 초록

[Purpose] This study aims to examine the actual state of the secondary education gap between urban and rural areas in Cambodia for cooperation country in Korea s education sector, and to derive necessary implications for solving the education gap between urban and rural areas in the future. [Methods]Using the OECD s PISA-D data, the actual state of education gap between urban and rural in Cambodia was analyzed from the systematic perspective of educational conditions, educational activities, and educational outcomes. Descriptive statistics and independent t-test were conducted to empirically confirm the educational gap between urban and rural areas, and the interpretation of the results was supported through a review of related papers and literature. [Results] According to the results of analysis, the gap between urban and rural secondary education in Cambodia is related to special facilities among major educational facilities of schools, ICT-related facilities, teachers participation in educational level and competency development, strict class atmosphere, dialogue between children and parents. And mealtimes, participation in housework and labor, and academic achievement are appearing throughout the entire education process, and the educational conditions and environments in rural areas are generally lower than in urban areas. [Conclusion] There is an educational gap between urban and rural areas in Cambodia s secondary schools. Efforts are urgently needed to improve educational conditions in rural areas where educational conditions and opportunities are relatively low and to support students diverse curriculum experiences. On the other hand, the difference between educational facilities and educational experience in Cambodia is highly likely to lead to a gap in results, so it is necessary to deal with Cambodian students academic performance in depth.
