자녀에 대한 부모역할의 인식유형 연구: Q 방법론 적용

국문 초록

본 연구는 부모들이 부모 역할에 대해 공통적인 특징과 다양성을 찾고 그것을 유형화하여 부모 역할에 대한 인식을 이해하는데 목적이 있다. 연구방법은 부모역할에 대한 인식을 살펴보기 위해 Q방법을 사용하였고, Q-표본은 부모인식과 관련된 진술문 56개 중 중복되거나 의미가 비슷한 내용을 제외한 후 최종 33개를 선정하였다. 연구에 참여한 P-표본의 대상은 아동학을 공부하고 있는 결혼한 교사와 자녀 양육에 관심이 있는 부모를 대상으로 2018년 9월부터 10월까지 18명이 참여하여 면담을 실시하였다. 자료 분석은 QUANL 프로그램을 이용하여 주요인분석을 실시하고 그에 따른 관련 유형을 분석하였다. 본 연구에서 살펴본 자녀에 대한 부모역할의 인식 유형은 사랑과 존중이 중심인 부모형(유형1)과 정서와 환경이 중심인 부모형(유형2), 정서와 독립성이 중심인 부모형(유형3), 훈육과 가르침이 중심인 부모형(유형4) 로 나누어지는 결과를 얻었다. 본 연구는 부모역할 이라는 주관적 인식을 과학적 방법으로 유형화하여 그 특성을 살펴보고 이해함으로써, 부모가 자녀를 양육하는데 있어서 자신의 부모역할 수행을 점검하고 나아갈 방향을 제시하는데 기초자료로서 매우 의미 있는 연구라고 할 수 있으며 본 연구 결과를 통하여 자녀에 대한 부모역할에 영향을 주어 자녀의 건강한 성장발달을 유도할 뿐 아니라 부모역할 관련 프로그램을 개발하는데 기초자료로 활용될 수 있기를 기대한다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study is to analyze the subjective perceptions of parents on their parental roles and to classify those perceptions to better understand them. The study Q method was used to classify the parents’ subjective perceptions on the parental roles. 33 samples were selected as Q sample through statements relating to parents’ perceptions. The subjects of this study were parents who are studying children education or who are currently teaching children. They were interviewed from September to October 2018. QUANL program was used for the data analysis. Through analyzing the subjects’ perceptions on the parental roles, 4 types of parents were identified: parents who care about love and respect in parenting (type 1); parents who care about emotion and environment (type 2); parents who care about emotion and independence (type 3); parents who care about discipline and lesson (type 4). This study was able to use scientific methods to conceptualize the diverse and subjective perceptions of parents on parental roles in child-rearing. The classifications suggested in this study can serve as basic guidelines for parents to examine and evaluate their child-rearing methods, and possibly influence the parents to improve their parenting skills. This study is also expected to be capable of serving as foundational data for developing a program for parental roles.
