영문 초록

In the physical characterization of an individual, a measure of body weight of patient is fundamental importance for veterinary service. This study was conducted in order to a biometric study on the simple methods of estimating body weight by the physical measurement data on the subject were collection from Korean Agricultural Cooperation Data Books. As a result of this study, the following conculsions were made. 1) The correlation coefficient of body weight and chest-girth of Korean native cattle (cow) was highly significant as r=+0.997(p＞0.01) and its induced regression equation was shown as the following; Y=4.07x-349.2 (* Y is body weight in kg, X is chest-girth in cm) And the correlation coefficient between body weight and chest-girth of the Korean native bull was r=+0.988 (p＜0.01), the inducion from it, we obtained the following regression equation; Y=4.686x-424.713 (* Y is body weight in kg, x is chest-girth in cm) 2) As estimation of body weight of cattle from measurement of chest-girth the equation of regression was less in error than the relative chest-girth method.
