국문 초록

이 논문의 목은 인격의 단일성에 한 리드리히 실러의 이론을 고찰함으로써 인교육 의 개념을 이해하는 데 있다. 인교육에 한 통념은, ‘지덕체의 조화로운 발달’이라는 표이 시사하듯이, 지식교과의 편을 문제삼으면서 도덕이나 체능교과들의 비을 늘릴 것을 주 문한다. 그러나 인격의 단일성은 지덕체를 표하는 교과들의 산술, 기계 균형만으로 성취 되는 것이 아니다. 칸트의 인식론은 감각직과 오성의 개념들을 하나의 정돈된 질서로 구축 하는 이성의 역할을 규명함으로써 지식을 통한 인격의 단일성을 해명한다. 칸트의 인식론이 지식의 논리 가정으로서의 인격의 단일성을 이해하는 데에 도움이 된다면, 실러의 이론은 지식을 가르치는 사태에서 이성과 감성의 상호 련을 보여다. 󰡔미학교육론󰡕은 감성과 이 성의 상호종속 계를 바탕으로 ‘상황’ 속에서 통일된 ‘인격’이 유희충동에 의해서 성취되는 역 동 과정을 다루고 있다. 이와 같은 실러의 이론에 비추어볼 때, 인교육은 교사-학생이 교 과를 매개로 교섭하는 동안 감각 상황들을 이성의 개념들로 환함으로써 인격을 성취해나 가는 업이다.

영문 초록

The purpose of this study is to understand the concept of the whole-person education by examining Friedrich Schiller s theory on the unity of human personality. Common doctrine of the whole-person education criticizes the prejudice of the so-called knowledge subject, and suggest the harmonious development by increasing moral and artistic subjects. However, the unity of personality is not achieved only by the arithmetic and mechanical balance of the subjects representing the elements of human mind. Kant s epistemology explains how personality can achieve unity through knowledge by identifying the role of reason to construct of sensory intuition and concepts of understanding as an harmonious order. Though Kant s theory helps to understand the unity of personality as a logical assumption of knowledge because of his attention to the unity of man ‘in the state of cognition’, there is the limitation, especially identifying the interrelation of reason and emotions achieved in the state of education. Schiller s theory explains the dynamic process of achieving the unified personality ‘in educational situation’ by the play-drive based on the mutual dependence of sense and reason. In the light of the Schiller theory, the whole-person education is the achievement of personal unity by transforming the senses into the concepts of reason through the teacher-student transaction in every subjects teaching.
