국문 초록

최근 도시에서 농촌 지역으로 이주하는 귀농귀촌 인구가 크게 증가하고 있다. 이는 다양한 사회적 경험과 배경을 지닌 도시인구가 농촌으로 이주하는 현상으로 초고령사회에 진입한 한국 농촌사회의 활력 증진과 젊은 농업인력 확보라는 측면에서 중요한 의미를 지니고 있다. 귀농귀촌인구가 농촌사회에 활력을 불러일으킨다는 주장은 그들의 사회자본이 농촌 마을의 발전에 기여할 수 있는 중요한 자원으로 인식될 수 있다는 점에서도 중요하다. 본 연구는 귀농귀촌인의 사회자본이 농촌사회발전에 미치는 영향을 검토하는 데 그 목적이 있다. 이를 위해 본 연구는 울콕(Woolcock)이 제시한 미시적 수준의 사회자본인 통합성과 연계성을 분석틀로 설정하여 귀농귀촌인의 사회자본이 농촌사회발전에 미치는 영향과 귀농귀촌만족도의 매개효과를 검증하는 데 초점을 맞추었다. 분석결과 귀농귀촌인의 통합성과 연계성은 농촌사회발전에 긍정적인 영향을 미쳤다. 귀농귀촌만족도 역시 농촌사회발전에 긍정적인 영향을 주는 것으로 확인되었다. 이와 함께 통합성과 연계성은 귀농귀촌만족도를 통해 농촌사회발전에 긍정적인 영향을 미치는 것으로 검증되었다.

영문 초록

The urban to rural migration has increased in recent years. This means that people who have various social experience and backgrounds move from urban to rural areas. This wave is important in terms of providing the vitality and securing the supply of farm labor in rural areas. The former is particularly important that urban to rural migrants’ social capital can be recognized as a significant resource to the development of rural areas. This paper attempts to analyze the effect of urban to rural migrants’ social capital on the development of rural areas. To do so, this paper employs the analytical framework of Woolcock’s social capital which includes the concept of ‘integration’ and ‘linkage’. This paper discusses the effects of integration and linkage on the degree of satisfaction in urban to rural migrants and the development of rural areas. The findings show that integration and linkage of urban to rural migrants have positive effect on the development of rural areas. The degree of satisfaction in urban to rural migrants has also positive effect on the development of rural areas. In addition, this study shows the role of the degree of urban to rural migrants’ as the interviewing variable between social capital and development of rural areas. Social capital of rural migrants may play an important role in the development of rural society.
