국문 초록

본고는 율리식토기 혹은 이중구연토기로 불리며 남부지방 즐문토기 중에서 가장 늦은 형식에 속하는 일군의 토기인 말기 즐문토기의 성립과 변천과정을 고찰한 것이다. 말기 즐문토기는 구연부의 형태적인 특징에 따라 이중구연토기와 평구연토기로 나누어지며. 문양의 시문 여부에 따라 다시 세분된다. 이들 기형은 문양의 조합과 기형의 세부 형식적인 특징에 따라 다양한 변이를 갖기도 한다. 다양한 형식적인 변이를 갖는 이중구연토기는 신석기시대 후기의 봉계리식토기의 성립기에 출현하며, 그 중심지는 남해안을 중심으로 하는 인접지역일 가능성이 높다. 이중구연토기는 구연부의 형태와 제작기법, 시문되는 문양의 형태적 속성에 따라 다양한 형식이 존재한다. 이들 형식은 특히 기형과 문양의 속성 변화에 다라 크게 봉계리식 이중구연의 특징을 갖는 I 단계, 이중구연의 단면 형태가 두터워지고 형태가 역삼각형을 이루며 전형적인 이중구연토기로 전환하는 II 단계, 이중구연토기가 완성되고 남해안을 중심으로 성행하는 3단계로 구분된다. 말기 즐문토기의 연대는 그 범위를 명확히 할 수 없으나 최근 발굴 자료의 방사성탄소연대 측정치를 참고할 때 중심은 BC. 2,000년 전후한 시기로 추정되며, 하한연대는 다소 내려올 것으로 생각된다.

영문 초록

This study examined the establishment and changing process of late Chulmun pottery called Yulri-type pottery or pottery with double mouth rim that belonged to the latest types among southern region Chulmun potteries. Late Chulmun pottery could be divided into pottery with double mouth rim and pottery with plain mouth rim according to the formal characteristics of mouth rim part, and it could be also sub-divided according to the presence of pattern engraving. The forms of potteries were varied in accordance with the combination of patterns and their detailed formal characteristics. It has been highly probable that the pottery with double mouth rim equipped with diverse formal variation and characteristics appeared in the establishment period of Bonggyeri-type pottery in the Late Neolithic Age and its center was somewhere near the southern coast. There have been diverse forms of potteries with double mouth rim in accordance with the form of mouth rim, manufacturing method and formal attribute of engraved patterns. These forms could be divided largely into three stages according to the attribute change in pottery forms and patterns as below: the first stage with the characteristic of Bonggyeri-type with double mouth rim; the second stage that changed into typical pottery type with thick sectional form in double moulh rim and with a form of an inverted triangle; and the third stage of the pottery with double mouth rim popular in the southern coast. The date of late Chulmun pottery could not be classified clearly in its scope, but when considering the measuring value of radiometric carbon dating of recent excavation data, it has been estimated that it was somewhere in 2,000 BC and the lowest possible date would be more or less going down further.
