국문 초록

이 연구는 대학 신입생들의 기숙사 생활에 대한 체험의 본질을 인간되어감 이론에 따라 적용하여 대학 신입생들의 작업 균형 및 작업치료적 관점에 대한 자료를 제시하고자 한다. 자료는 파시의 연구 방법에 따라 너와 나의 관계형성을 통해 2013년 9월 23일부터 10월 31일까지 대학 신입생 9명을 대상으로 수집하였다. 대화는 2회 이상, 대화시간은 30분~1시간 정도 진행되었고, 참여자의 사전 동의를 통해 녹음되었으며, 여러 번 반복 청취하면서 워드프로세서로 직접 필사하였다. 대학 신입생들의 기숙사 생활체험에 대한 세 개의 핵심구조는 1) 새로운 환경에 대한 적응과정에서 오는 갈등과 스트레스, 2) 원만한 대인관계를 위해 노력하는 과정, 3) 스스로 독립적으로 성장해가는 과정으로 나타났다. 구조적인 전환은 새로운 환경의 적응 과정과 긍정적으로 인간관계를 형성하며 사회적, 인격적으로 성숙되어 가는 과정으로 확인되었다. 개념적 통합은 가치화하며 연결-분리, 노출-은폐하면서 변형되어가고 강화되어가는 과정으로 표현되었다. 대학 신입생들의 기숙사 생활 체험은 역할 전환과 낯선 환경에서 낯선 이들과 기본적인 일상생활을 공유해야 하는 스트레스와 갈등을 통해 인격적 성숙과 사회적 성장이 이루어짐을 확인할 수 있었다.

영문 초록

Using the human becoming theory, this study presents the experience of living in a dorm as college freshmen from an occupation balance and occupational therapy perspective. Data were collected from nine college freshman, using the Parse research method. Conversations with each participant were held at least twice, each time between 30 minutes to an hour. These conversations were recorded with prior consent of the participants and were transcribed with multiple playbacks by the researchers using a word processor. The three core structures of the experience of living in a dorm as college freshmen are: 1) the conflict and stress of adapting to the new environment, 2) the process of trying to maintain smooth interpersonal relationships, and 3) the process of growing independently. The structural transition can be expressed as adapting to a new environment, maintaining positive interpersonal relationships, and maturing socially and personally. The conceptual integration process was expressed as transforming and powering through valuing, connecting-separating, and revealing-concealing. The experience of living in a dorm as college freshmen was characterized by the personal and social growth brought about through conflict and stress to do shared activities of daily living(ADL) with strangers in a strange environment and role transitions.
