생애사를 통해 본 '여성주의' 인식전환 경험 연구

국문 초록

본 연구는 '여성은 어떠한 경험을 통해 여성주의를 인식하게 되는가?' 라는 물음으로부터 시작하여, 여성의 삶에서 불평등을 인식하게 되는 생애사건을 중심으로 인식전환 과정을 보고자 한다. 이를 위해서 여성학 전공자이며, 여성관련 분야에서 활동하고 있는 30~40대 여성주의자 3명을 대상으로 심층 면담을 진행하였다. 연구 결과, 첫째, 여성주의 인식 형성 맥락에서 여성들은 성불평등 사건을 지속적으로 경험하면서 성별 감수성을 학습하게 된다. 인식전환에 영향을 끼치는 생애 사건은 존재하며, 성인기 이후 성불평등 인식은 어린 시절의 경험과 연결되어 발생함을 알 수 있었다. 둘째, 여성주의 인식전환 과정에서 여성들은 고민과 갈등을 통해서 치열한 성찰학습을 경험하게 된다. 여성학 강의를 수강하면서 개인적 경험이 여성주이 이론을 만나게 된다. 결정적 생애 사건들은 여성주의 학습과정에서 경험의 공유를 통해 지지받게 되며 긍정적 경험으로 치환하게 된다. 셋째, 여성주의 인식 전환을 통한 삶의 변화는 실천학습과 관련되어 있다. 일상에서 불평등한 요소를 찾고, 가정과 사회에서 성 평등한 세상을 만들고자 노력하고 있었다. 여성주의자의 삶은 경험학습, 성찰학습, 실천학습 등의 평생교육의 현장이자, 결국 '여성주의' 인식전환 과정들이었다. 이것은 평생교육과 여성주의가 만나는 지점을 발견한 것이라고 할 수 있다.

영문 초록

This study began with the question "Through what kind of experimental learning do women come to become aware of feminism?" It examines the process of transformation and associated changes in the life of women by looking at critical life events which act as the trigger. For this, three feminist women in their 30s and 40s, who are graduates of women's studies and currently working in a women-related field, were interviewed in-depth. Research findings indicated that, First, as women continuously experience gender inequality cases in life contexts prior to recognitions of feminism, they perceive gender discrimination. Second, in the process of transformative learning experiences of feminism, women access to theories explaining their own experiences through lectures of women's studies. As a fruit of intensive reflections on and concerns for current status as a woman, this thesis is completed. Third, feminists find unequal factors through everyday Life Learning, and make an effort to develop sexually equal world in homes or societies. It is the very feminism, an analysis tool to read everything in routine lives, which makes it possible to realize politics in everyday lives, inaugurated from me, and enjoy a new life. In this study, lives of the feminists are fields of lifelong education such as daily, experiential and practical learning, and consequently are transformative learning processes of the 'feminism'. It can be said to be a discovery of meeting point of lifelong education and feminism.
