국문 초록

최근의 급변하는 사회변화는 종래에 다루어 왔던 교과 이외에 새로운 범주의 학습을 요구하고 있다. 이러한 범주의 학습은 대개의 경우 여러 교과 간에 걸쳐 학습이 가능한 범교과적 성격의 주제나 능력에 해당하는 것으로, 교과 간 통합학습을 통해서 적절히 다루어질 수 있다. 이 연구의 목적은 최근의 사회변화 속에서 새롭게 요구되는 범교과적 학습영역을 다루기 위한 교과간 통합학습 자료를 개발하고 이것의 적용 효과를 탐색해 보기 위한 것이다. 특히 이 연구에서는 비교적 교과 간 통합학습이 용이한 초등학교를 대상으로 하되, 국가 수준에서 통합 교육과정이 제공되고 있지 않는 3-6학년의 범교과적 학습영역을 지원하기 위한 자료 개발에 초점을 두었다. 연구 목적을 위해 이 연구에서는 첫째, 범교과적 학습영역 중심의 통합학습 자료를 개발하기 위한 과정을 구조화하였다. 둘째, 구조화된 자료 개발 과정에 따라 범교과적 학습영역 중심의 예시적인 통합학습 자료를 개발하였다. 셋째, 개발된 통합학습 자료를 초등학교에 적용하여 그 효과를 탐색해 보았다.

영문 초록

Recently, rapid social change requires new categories of learning besides existing subject matters. In the majority of cases, these types of learning are related to cross-curricular learning areas, including cross-curricular themes and skills, which can be addressed by integrated learning across several subject. The purpose of this study was to develop integrated learning materials in order for elementary teachers to appropriately teach cross-curricular themes and skills, and examine the effect of its application. In particular, this study focused on supporting grades 3rd through 6th elementary students for whom an integrated curriculum was not provided in the national curriculum. In order to accomplish the goal of this study, we did the following: First, we structuralized the process to develop integrated learning materials based on cross-curricular learning areas. Second, we developed integrated learning materials focusing on cross-curricular learning areas by way of example. Third, we examined the effect of application of these developed integrated learning materials in elementary schools.
