문제해결력과 사고력 중심 미술교과 평가

국문 초록

  이 연구의 목적은 미술교육에서 최근에 쟁점이 되고 있는 평가방식의 전환과 관련하여 미술의 평가에 하나의 방향을 제시하기 위한 것이다. 현대미술의 관점에서 미술은 창조적이고 변화적인 속성으로 인해 정의가 불가능하지만, 과학적 성향의 미술연구가들의 연구결과들은 미술의 과정이 문제해결과정이고 지적인 과정이라는 것이다. 이것은 마음의 메커니즘에 대한 인지과학 연구의 결과들과 동일한 관점을 지니고 있다. 최근의 사회패러다임의 변화와 교육적 경향 역시 지식의 재구성을 통한 학습자의 삶과 관련된 문제 해결적인 지식을 강조하며, 평가에서 수행평가의 중요성을 강조한다. 수행평가의 일반적 원리 역시 문제해결을 강조하고 미술교과의 평가는 주지교과의 편향된 객관식 평가와 달리 수행평가가 위주가 되고 있다. 따라서 학습자의 맥락과 관련된 주제와 문제해결 중심의 학습과 평가방식은 미적인 안목을 성장시킬 뿐만 아니라 학교에서의 재능과 정서 중심교과라는 부정적인 시선을 줄이고 미술이 지적인 도전이 될 수 있는 하나의 방법이다.

영문 초록

  This paper aims to suggest a way of and a direction for assesment of art activities, as recently issued in Korea art education fields. It is impossible that art can be defined, since art has creative and diverse characters, especially, in terms of perspectives of contemporary art. However, there are many researchers who demonstrate by scientific methods that art is a process of problem-solving and an activity with intellectual efforts. This may result from cognitive science theories, which deal with a mind"s mechanism. Recently, there is also the shift to the new socio-cultural paradigm that focuses on problem-solving knowledge and abilities connected with learners" everyday lives and different experiences. This shift needs to reconstruct the established knowledge and emphasizes performance-based assessment. The assessment and evaluating of art activities should not depend on objective tests but on performance-based assessment concerned with problem-solving. As a way of improving problem-solving abilities concerned with learners" experiences and living themes. the performance-based assessment can encourage learners" aesthetic connoisseurship and suggests a good way out of the prejudice that art activities is more emotional than intellectual.
