국문 초록

  어떤 기업이 노력과 비용을 투입해서 생산비를 절감한다면 기업의 경쟁력을 향상시킨다. 이것은 기업의 효율성을 높여 가격에 영향을 줌으로써 소비자의 복지에도 영향을 끼치며 그 기업의 점유율 증가로 인해 산업구조도 바뀔 수 있다. 이 논문에서는 어느 대표기업(a representative firm)이 비용절감을 위해 노력할 때에 그 기업의 의사결정에 대한 동태적인 time path를 control theory를 활용하여 실현해 본다. 그럼으로써 그 기업이 속한 특정한 산업의 특성이 내재되어 있는 파라메터에 따라 동태적인 의사결정에 비용절감노력이 어떠한 영향을 줄 것인지를 조망해 볼 수 있다. 이러한 분석방법은 기존의 기업은 물론 새로 이 산업에 진입하고자 하는 기업에게도 특정산업에 관한 중요한 정보로 활용될 수 있고, 소비자 복지를 극대화시키고자 하는 정책결정자도 특정산업의 효율성과 기술진보를 위해 필요한 정책에 참고자료로 사용될 수 있다. 숫자를 이용한 모의실험과 데이터 분석 결과에 따르면, 기업이 추가적인 수출 시장 한계점유율을 확보하기 위해서는 이전 보다 더 많은 금액의 투자가 선행되어야 함을 보여주고 있다.

영문 초록

  A firm reduces cost through investing effort and financial resources to improve its competitiveness in the market. This conduct will eventually influence on the welfare of consumer through lowering the price of product firm sells. Industry structure will also be reshaped by the firm"s efficiency improvement. In this study we trace the dynamic time path from the firm"s decision making process by utilizing optimal control theory when it tries to reduce its production cost. Thus we can see the impact level of cost reducing effort on dynamic time path with different parameter values that contains the characteristics of industry that firm belongs to. This analysis will provide intuitive industry information for both incumbent and entering firms. The information about specific industry could also be used for policy-maker who tries to increase the efficiency of industry through technological progress and to maximize welfare of consumer. The numerical simulation and data analysis conclude that business enterprises have to invest bigger amount to get marginal export market share.
