영문 초록

The purposes of this study are to analyze the contents of primary school English CD-ROMs which are based on the 7th national primary English curriculum, and to provide suggestions necessary to improve the CD-ROMs. The CD-ROMs should be accompanied by teaching activities categorized for advanced groups and remedial groups in the class. This will facilitate the implementation of level-based lessons. The use of the CD-ROMs helps to make learners more active responders. Although the CD-ROMs implement adequate functions for student-centered learning, they are insufficient and need improvement. The CD-ROMs must include sueh teaching aetivities as 'listen and Repeat', 'Let's Play', 'Read', and 'Write' for students' self-directed English learning. Teachers and students are unsatisfied with the current CD-ROMs, due to their shortage of accompanying teaching activities. In other words, they need to be eguipped with more helpful wntent and funetions. For this, one could use the Internet as a source for supplementary materials alongside the CD-ROMs. These two sources used together will prove useful in teaching English.
