영문 초록

This dissertation aim to study the essential of morden sijo concentrating on some of representative sijo poets, Yukdang, Nosan, Karam, Yi Howoo, Chojeong etc. Yukdang pursued to find out what choseon's soul ought to summing up choeson as the absolute, mysterious admirable object, Nosan admired his native land and longed to save his country with a close relationship toward it, with I-You relationship. Yi Howoo revealed a strong doubt in his mind, facing all the illegal behaviors, dishonest attitudes, and corruptions of the politicians that time and the division of his native land, and, therefore, purse social justice and free mind. Chojeong, taking a poetic interest in korean soul and objects with a classical zest, pursued to establish his own poetic world. Kalam regarded nature as an aesthetic object. He, on intimate terms with nature, realized the harmony between material and soul, between subject and object, between haven and man in his poetry.
