영문 초록

This study has the aim to know the significance of hippism and hippi style and to understand the influence upon them in 20th century. The results of this study as follow. The significance of hippism in 1960' which has analized by the social resisitance, piece and love, subculture, mysticism, naturalism, liveral sex, culture of drug-taking. The charateristic of hippi fashion style can be summerized as, ethnic style, unisex style, counterculture style, psychidelic art. 1960's hippie look manifested itself and realized the ideology of hippie through long hair, blue jeans, psychedelic art prints on clothing, the imitation of the fashion style of popular rock bands and the adoption of a flower motif. After 1967 the hippie look grew popular within mainstream population and began to influence 'High Fashion', examples of this are; unisex clothing, layering and the birth of punk fashion. In 1980's, 1990's new fashion styles such as Grunge, Neo-hippie, Ethnic, Layering have their roots in hippie fashion of the 1960's. As time passed, the hippie look was upgraded through the use of better quality materials and morw creative accessorizing. Hippie fashion is recreated as a cotemporary theme, combined with modern style has become a Hobos style.
